Missing Dominick Bianchi’s heartbroken father-in-law reveals ‘intense pain’ after newlywed found dead

Dominick Bianchi’s heartbroken father-in-law said their family is in “intense pain” after the newlywed was found dead after a days-long search in upstate New York — and urged anyone struggling with mental health issues to get the help they need.

Bianchi, 35, who married his wife just months ago, was found in a wooded area on Sunday after he vanished from his home in East Greenbush, leaving behind his cellphone, wallet and car.

“Every family has its share of great joy and profound sadness. Four months ago, we experienced the joy of welcoming Dom into our family, and now we feel the intense pain of his loss,” Bianchi’s father-in-law, Larry Zyra, told local outlet News 10 in a statement.

“Dom was a husband, a son, a brother, a nephew, and a friend. He will be so missed by so many people. But even in this darkness, there is light,” he continued.

Zyra thanked the community “for the notes you left at our door; the food; the coffee; and the words of encouragement” as well as police and volunteers who helped join in the frantic search — including a group of young boys on bicycles.

No official cause of death has been revealed, but Zyra added that he wants those dealing with mental health issues to “please know that there is help available, and that you are never alone.”

“There is always a reason to go on. There is always a reason to get up tomorrow morning. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of those reasons.  Please know that you matter,” he concluded.

The Rensselaer County Medical Examiner’s Office told The Post Tuesday morning it would not be revealing Bianchi’s official cause of death and the East Greenbush Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In a desperate plea for help after Bianchi disappeared on Tuesday, Sept. 8, his distraught wife, Julianna Zyra, explained that he had been dealing with mental health troubles.

He also had type 1 diabetes, and family members were worried he did not have his insulin with him.

Police, who had asked locals to check their properties and surveillance cameras for any signs of Bianchi, offered their “sincere gratitude” for the help.
