Knicks guard Jose Alvarado plows into former NYC Mayor Bloomberg during Game 3 of Finals

Knicks guard Jose Alvarado went head-first into the first row of fans — directly into former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg while trying to retrieve a loose ball during Tuesday night’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

The 84-year-old looked a little shaken up afterwards, but appeared otherwise unscathed.

The incident occurred early in the fourth quarter with the Knicks down to the San Antonio Spurs.

Alvarado, who hails from Brooklyn, put his arms around Bloomberg and patted him on the chest after the collision. 

The 6-foot, 179-pound point guard seemed to ask the former mayor if he was OK after being knocked over.

Bloomberg is 5-foot-7-inches and 165 pounds, his doctor revealed in December 2019, after President Trump teased the then-Democratic presidential candidate by referring to him as “Mini Mike” and claiming the former mayor was only 5’4”.

Bloomberg served as mayor of New York from 2002 to 2013.

Game 3 – the  first home finals for the Knicks since 1999 – brought a host of celebrities and pols to Madison Square Garden.

Trump, a guest of Knicks owner James Dolan, watched the game with several administration officials and family members from an MSG suite.   

New York City’s current mayor, Zohran Mamdani, also took in the action alongside a few Empire State lawmakers. 

The Knicks are attempting to win their first NBA championship since 1973. They lost to the Spurs Monday night with a final score of 115-111.
