Aaron Judge sidelined with shoulder injury in massive Yankees concern
The Yankees are back in action in The Bronx, but Aaron Judge is absent from the lineup.
The slugger is taking a seat for the series-opener against the Guardians with a shoulder bone bruise he’s been dealing with for weeks, according to manager Aaron Boone.
Judge’s injury is affecting more of the clavicle area, the manager revealed, and he’s set to meet with team doctors Tuesday.
A return to action could take a few days — or longer, depending on the doctors’ report.

Utilityman Jose Caballero will take over in right field on Tuesday, batting seventh.
Judge, the AL’s back-to-back reigning MVP, is batting .248 with 17 homers and 38 RBIs in 59 games entering Tuesday’s slate. He’s mired in a 22-game stretch in which he is 17-for-82 with just six extra-base hits, 14 walks and 26 strikeouts — well off his usual superhuman numbers.
