AEW star Pac dead at 40 one day after final match
Benjamin Satterley, who performed as Pac in All Elite Wrestling, has died at the age of 40, the company announced Sunday night.
Satterley had his final match at the All Out pay-per-view against AEW national champion Andrade at the NOW Arena in Chicago on Saturday night.
“Benjamin Satterley defined excellence, as a beloved husband & friend to his many loved ones, + in his wrestling knowledge, skill, unprecedented athleticism, professionalism, consistency + dedication to the sport that he loved & traveled the world to pursue,” AEW president Tony Khan wrote on X. “May Ben rest in peace.”
Satterley, who was part of the Death Riders faction since late 2025, lost the match and received a handshake from Andrade in the ring afterward. He appeared later in the night, getting involved in the main event clash between Death Riders leader Jon Moxley and AEW World Champion Will Ospreay.
No cause of death was given.
“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac,” the promotion said in a statement. “A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.
“Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”
Satterley, a perfect combination of freakish athleticism and strength, also performed in WWE as Neville from 2012-18. He was featured for his high-flying acumen as “The Man That Gravity Forgot,” known for his signature Black Arrow corkscrew-senton splash.
He joined AEW in 2019 and went by the moniker “The Bastard” following about a year on the indies after his WWE release. Satterley was initially part of the Death Triangle faction with Rey Fenix and Penta before finding his way to the Death Riders.
He wrestled a more grinding and physical style in AEW, often using his Brutalizer front-facelock submission to beat opponents. The British star was the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion and a two-time AEW Trios champion.
In WWE, he was a two-time WWE Cruiserweight champion, NXT champion and a two-time NXT Tag Team champion.
AEW recently mourned the death of Andy “The Butcher” Williams at the age of 48 on Sept. 9 after its former wrestler collapsed and struck his head during a match for an independent promotion in Pittsburgh.
