‘Palestinian Rachel Dolezal’ grew up in $1.8M house in one of the richest suburbs in America

A virulent anti-Israeli activist grew up in a $1.8 million house in one of the wealthiest towns in America before masquerading as a black Palestinian woman for years until she was outed as both white and Jewish.

Hannah Gann, 34, a public school teacher once branded “Philadelphia’s Leading Antisemite” due to her rabid activism, grew up in the leafy confines of Falls Church, Virginia, a DC suburb with the second-highest median income of any suburb in America, The Post has uncovered.

Gann, who was forced to issue a mealy-mouthed apology after being outed by her fellow leftists, was also an honor roll student at George Mason High School in Falls Church, where she played softball and sang chorus — and grew up in a four-bedroom house now estimated to be worth $1.8 million.

Her father, Hal Gann, is a prominent tax attorney who attended the University of Pennsylvania, like his daughter, as well as Yale Law School, while her mother, Susan Gann, is a Dem election donor.

While at her school, since renamed Meridian High School, Hann was awarded a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship to support her college studies, selected from a group of over one million students, according to a May 2010 report in the Falls Church News-Press.

“She plans on attending the University of Pennsylvania in the fall to begin her career as a teacher,” the story continues. “Gann discovered this passion helping at-risk students from Mount Daniel Elementary School’s Family Literacy summer program last year.

Her mother had long volunteered at the school, according to records.

Hannah Gann reportedly lied to her fellow activists about having Palestinian and Tunisian heritage.

In fact, she is Israeli and has living relatives in the West Bank, according to pals who spoke to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The uncovering of her deception has seen her branded the “Philadelphia Rachel Dolezal” on social media, a reference to the former Idaho NAACP president who infamously pretended to be black for years before she was unmasked.

Gann appears to have changed her identity in the wake of a four-year Peace Corps assignment in Rwanda, where she taught in a school.

After Oct. 7, 2023 attacks in Israel, she gained a reputation as one of the most rabid anti-Israel campaigners in Philadelphia, so much so that the group Accuracy in Media once organized a mobile billboard to go past the school where she taught tenth-grade history, branding her “Philadelphia’s Leading Antisemite.”

In 2024, she staged a protest in support of Keziah Ridgeway, a teacher at Northeast Philadelphia High School, who was fired over complaints from pro-Israel groups.

“For every district official who participated in the baseless censure of Ms. Ridgeway, this is the legacy you leave behind,” Gann told a Philadelphia Board of Education meeting at the time, as reported by the World Socialist Web Site.

Gann’s former allies in leftist Philly circles said they were “stunned, saddened and angered by this betrayal,” the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

In her video statement, Gann acknowledged her deception, but insisted it didn’t take away from her message.

“The fact that I lied about who I was does not mean anyone else who speaks up for Palestine is lying and does not erase the urgency of listening to voices on the ground,” she said in the video message.
