Patrick Clancy makes heartbreaking revelation about his dead children in first interview since mistrial

Lindsay Clancy’s former husband said in an interview clip airing Thursday that he still speaks to his three deceased children “all the time” asking them to “help” him through the pain.

“I talk to them,” Patrick Clancy told CBS correspondent Ross Douthat in his first interview since his ex-wife’s mistrial for murdering their three children.

Asked what he tells them, he said: “‘Help me.’ All the time.”

Former delivery nurse Clancy, now 36, admitted she strangled the couple’s three children Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and eight-month-old Callan in the basement of their Duxbury, Mass. home in January 2023.

Her murder trial, which garnered rapt nationwide attention, ended in an 11-1 hung jury after a lone holdout declined to vote for her acquittal.

Clancy’s lawyers argued that although she admitted to the killings, she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and could therefore not be held accountable for her actions.

The jury deliberated for more than 38 hours across seven days before notifying Plymouth Judge William Sullivan they were unable to reach a verdict.

Since the trial began, Patrick, 38, who remarried in April and now lives in New York, has faced a barrage of ghoulish threats, and has been the target of misinformation campaigns waged by low-level influencers blaming him for the killings.

“Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign,” his lawyer, Howard Cooper, told Boston 25 News.

“This campaign of misinformation has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles and potential profit by publishing what they know to be outright falsehoods that Patrick was somehow involved in the death of his young children and other vile claims.”

Cooper left the door open to pursuing legal action against those responsible for peddling the grotesque falsehoods.

On the witness stand, Patrick remained stoic as he painted a picture of his ex as a loving mother, sharing that she’d “make up songs” with the children and cook them special meals like green eggs and ham.
