Karmelo Anthony seen holding guns, spewing hateful rants in newly revealed documents

Karmelo Anthony posed with guns and went on racist, violent rants over text messages before he fatally stabbed Austin Metcalf, according to a trove of new documents.

The 75-page dossier, obtained by the Daily Mail, offers insight into Anthony’s disturbing past — and was never revealed to jurors during his murder trial as part of a “gentleman’s agreement” between prosecutors and his defense team.

Photos show Anthony flashing a handgun in a screenshot of a video he recorded in November 2024, just five months before he killed Metcalf in a tent at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas.

Another image from May 2024 shows the then-16-year-old Anthony holding an AK-47-style rifle with three other teenagers.

A third video shows Anthony aiming a gun at a residence and then running away on Jan. 4, 2025, according to the Mail. It’s not clear whose home it was.

Just one week before the killing, Anthony, who is black, also sent multiple racist texts to his girlfriend, Valeria Perez, in which he espoused hatred for other black people.

“I f—king despise black bitches,” he said, according to a screenshot of the message exchange.

“F—king n—ers,” he wrote, according to the docs. “They need to go die.”

In a separate homophobic rant about gay people in June 2021, Anthony told a friend that “These f—king gay people are f—king everything up.” He said he hated then-president Joe Biden because he’s “Gay ASB [as balls],” according to the document.

The text messages also revealed Anthony’s alleged criminal activity and his increasingly violent behavior before the stabbing.

In one text from October 2024, he told Perez he “might gt [go to] jail” after claiming he broke into a neighbor’s home and stole a watch. The next month, he bragged to his girlfriend about bringing a gun and knife to school.

Anthony was convicted and sentenced 35 years in prison — but appealed the conviction and asked for a new trial, which a Texas judge denied.

Collin County Assistant District Attorney Bill Wirskye said last month at Anthony’s appeal hearing that Anthony’s girlfriend confided to an assistant principal on the day of the murder, April 2, 2025, that Anthony was stalking her after a breakup, and that he was obsessed with fights, guns, and knives.

Anthony also sent a picture of the knife and told his ex-girlfriend, “I’m low key on the verge,” Wirskye said.

“He was spiraling,” the prosecutor added.

A few hours later, Anthony stabbed Metcalf to death under a tent at a track meet at a high school.

Prosecutors agreed not to use any of this evidence in court in exchange for defense lawyers agreeing not to bring up victim Austin Metcalf’s juvenile criminal history, which included graffiti of “vile racist stuff,” Wirskye said.

After Anthony’s appeal was denied, his family is asking supporters to donate some $250,000 to pay for the convicted killer’s appeal after his request for a new trial was shot down last month.
