Ex-Eagles star Miles Sanders arrested for DUI after being found ‘slumped over’ in middle of highway
Veteran running back Miles Sanders was arrested on DUI charges in June in the Pittsburgh area, CBS Pittsburgh reported while citing court records.
Sanders, a free agent who played for Dallas in 2025, was reportedly charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and careless driving on June 8 in Churchill Borough.
Police also discovered marijuana in his car, per the report.
“This is a private matter that has not even reached the preliminary hearing stage and there will be no further comment,” Sanders’ agent, Phil DiLucente, told KDKA-TV.
The criminal complaint reportedly stated that an officer found Sanders “slumped over” while in the driver’s seat of a Lexus found in the middle of William Penn Highway.
The officer reportedly claimed they attempted to wake Sanders, but he was “in and out consciousness and “extremely lethargic,” according to CBS Pittsburgh.
Sanders, 29, reportedly could not answer questions.
Police alleged that Sanders “performed poorly” on field sobriety tests and tested positive for alcohol.
He was ultimately taken into custody and has a September court date, per the report.

Sanders is listed as a Pittsburgh native and has spent most of his collegiate and professional career playing in Pennsylvania.
The running back starred for Penn State from 2016-18 before being selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Sanders spent four years with the Eagles before signing a four-year, $25 million deal with the Panthers ahead of the 2023 season.
He played for Carolina for two years before latching on with the Cowboys.
Sanders rushed for 117 yards and one touchdown across four games last season before before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
He has tallied 4,462 career rushing yards and 24 rushing scores.
With training camps almost over and Sanders coming off this injury and now this legal matter, it’s possible the season could begin without him being signed.
