Lindsay Clancy trial live updates: Supporters descend on courthouse ahead of closing arguments
PLYMOUTH, Mass. – Lindsay Clancy is back in court as the jury is poised to begin deliberations later today in the captivating trial centers on the 36-year-old mother who strangled her three young children in 2023.

Prosecutors and Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, are scheduled to deliver their closing arguments this morning before the judge instructs the jury on the law and sends them off to begin the decision-making process.

Their verdict will turn on whether they believe Clancy’s defense – that she should be found not criminally responsible because she was in the throes of severe postpartum psychosis and heard a man’s voice telling her to carry out the killings and attempt suicide.
Meanwhile, prosecutors claim Clancy carefully planned and knew the wrongfulness of her horrific acts.
Judge kicks of the day with preliminary jury instructions

Judge William Sullivan has begun the day by giving some of his jury instructions before the closing arguments start.
He said he would give a second batch of instructions after the closings.
“They are dry,” the judge said of the instructions. He also had the jurors handed copies of the instructions as well.
Lindsay Clancy back in court for final day of trial

Lindsay Clancy was back in court this morning as her lawyer, Kevin Reddington, and prosecutors are expected to deliver their closing arguments.
Clancy is sitting stoically in her wheelchair at the defense table wearing a light blue v-neck shirt and her long brown, wavy hair was flowing down her back. There is a box of tissues sitting beside her on the table.
Reddington was pacing as he waited for court to kick off for the day. At one point he spoke with Clancy as he placed his hand on her shoulder and gave her a tap.
Clancy said “Good morning, your honor,” right before the jury was brought in.
After closings, the judge will instruct the jury on the law before sending them back to begin deliberations.
Prosecutors came to court accompanied by officers who testified at trial. Two rows of the courtroom gallery will filled with cops.
Press, supporters gather at courthouse ahead of Clancy closing arguments

Roughly 100 members of the press began lining up outside of court as early at 7:00 a.m. this morning as jurors are poised to potentially start deliberating later in the day.
Some Clancy supporters wearing pink were also queued up outside court this morning.
One 46-year-old mother of four – who chose to remain anonymous – came to court to support Clancy as she too experienced postpartum psychosis after the birth of two of her kids.
The Plymouth, Mass. woman said she was put on 37 medications at one point so she relates and hopes “she gets help.”
“There needs to be a lot more help for mental health in general,” the woman said.
Another mother, Mara Quijano, said “this should never have happened” and she said Clancy “was so brave asking for help.”
