Harrowing 911 call reveals details of Billings house shooting and blaze that killed at least 8 in Montana

Cops were called to “shots being fired” and a “child unconscious,” as fire units also rushed to a Montana home where at least eight people, including multiple kids, died in a mass shooting and house fire, according to 911 dispatch audio.

“We have a situation going on with shots being fired,” the 911 dispatcher from Yellowstone County says in the Sunday evening recording, obtained by The Post.

The dispatcher says that a fire engine is “staged in the area,” with a request for “another engine” made to the house in Billings just after 6:00 p.m.

“There is also going to be an unconscious child inside of the home,” the dispatcher says, before another voice asks if there were any “GSWs” or “gunshot wounds” on the minor.

“Unconfirmed at this time. Just noted that it was unconscious,” the dispatcher responds, also noting that she doesn’t know whether the child was breathing.

Later, a dispatcher says, “We just got one patient with a gunshot wound to the head.”

When emergency services arrived just after 6:10 p.m. Sunday, they saw a man outside the already-smoking house, before hearing further gunshots as the house went up in flames.

The suspect was taken to hospital where he died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

No motive has yet been given for the massacre, although authorities say the gunman knew the victims.

Two of the victims have been identified locally as 12-year-old Charlotte Gheikere and her 15-year-old brother Landon.

“Our community lost two of its brightest lights, Landon and Charlotte, along with six other family members, in a senseless act of violence,” reads a GoFundMe set up by a loved one.

Landon was remembered on the fundraising page as “patient, protective, and loving big brother,” while Charlotte was “funny, precocious, and adorable—with just the right amount of stubborn.”

Police are expected to give a further press conference on Wednesday with more details about the shooting.
