The 49ers’ CEO and controlling owner was arrested Sunday on suspicion of engaging in prostitution near his northeastern Ohio hometown. He pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors — disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools — and spent the night in jail.
The arrest — and accompanying mugshot — amounted to an embarrassing situation and a black mark on a franchise that has prided itself on being one of the steadiest in the NFL for the better part of the past decade under the leadership of York, Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch.
Jed York’s family
York married Danielle Belluomini in 2011 and the couple have two children. The couple began dating while Belluomi was still a sixth-grade science teacher in a San Francisco public school, according to the San Francisco Gate.
Belluomini keeps a low profile, although attends 49ers team events with her husband.
York and Belluomini gave birth to their first son, Jaxon, in October of 2012.
Their second son, Brixton, was born a few years later.
York’s wife does not have a very large imprint on social media.
Her last post on X was five years ago and her Instagram account is private. It appears as though the York’s have kept to themselves despite being a prominent NFL family.

York’s history in the NFL
The 49ers have been a stable franchise, but it wasn’t always that way.
York, 46, became the team’s principal owner in 2024, when he bought out enough of the team’s shares from his mom, Denise. The York family only came into possession of the team in 2000 when her brother, Eddie DeBartolo Jr., was forced to cede control over his own legal troubles.

DeBartolo oversaw the most successful era of 49ers football upon buying the team in 1977, going on to win all five of their Super Bowl titles in his 23 years of stewardship.
But he was found guilty in a corruption investigation involving then-Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards, resulting in a year-long suspension and eventually him handing the reins to his sister, Denise.
The early years of the Yorks’ tenure were rocky, and the franchise was near its lowest point since before DeBartolo’s arrival when Jed was named the fresh-faced CEO in 2008.
He was still in college, studying finance and history at Notre Dame, a few years removed from a standout prep baseball career at Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio, when his parents took control in 2000.
They brought him into the organization in 2005 and anointed him CEO three years later, at just 28 years old.
York has matured on the job, from a brash neophyte to a respected operator of one of the NFL’s most valuable franchises — $8.6 billion at Forbes’ last calculation — just one reason why his arrest over the weekend sent shockwaves through the sports world.
