Agostino Abbatiello, a 24-year-old alum from Long Island, recruited his Sigma Chi frat bro to sell coke for him by calling in a $1,500 loan for a spring break trip that he couldn’t repay, court papers filed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office this week claimed.
Larz Zeepvat, one of more than a dozen current and former Penn State students charged in the conspiracy, told investigators that Abbatiello allegedly trapped him into joining the scheme.
“He stated that Abbatiello would boast about how much money he was making from selling cocaine,” . “Zeepvat explained Abbatiello loaned him $1,500 so that he and other fraternity brothers could attend a spring break trip.
“Zeepvat stated that Abbatiello then made him deliver cocaine for him when he couldn’t pay back the loan,” the document claims.
Zeepvat also claimed that another individual who owed Abbatiello “thousands of dollars after taking a loan from him” was selling coke for the alleged ringleader, according to the complaint.
During 2023 and 2024, Abbatiello was “the largest distributor of cocaine at Penn State University,” Zeepvat told investigators, according to the complaint.

Authorities said that the Westbury resident and his fellow Penn State grad Thomas Robinson — the son of prominent Pittsburgh attorney Paul Robinson, who is charged with concealing evidence — were atop the ring.
The younger Robinson, a Delta Upsilon frat brother, allegedly bought as much as one kilogram of cocaine from Abbatiello for $22,000, the complaint claims.
After Robinson was busted, he cooperated with law enforcement and fingered Abbatiello as the coke source, the complaint claimed.
Abbatiello grew up in a spacious $1.4 million home in Nassau County, and neighbors told Fox News that he “had a good job in accounting” and was “doing well.”
Abbatiello’s dad, Mario Abbatiello, told The Post Tuesday: “We have no comment. We have nothing to do with this. We have no comment.”
