Murderer Oscar Pistorius shockingly lands new job after prison release
Disgraced Olympian Oscar Pistorius, who was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, has landed a new job since being released from prison.

The South African, 39, shot his ex-partner four times through a locked bathroom door in 2013 and was sentenced to 13 years and five months behind bars.
The conviction came in 2015 after an appeal court overturned his verdict of culpable homicide.
He was released on parole in 2024 and now lives back in Waterkloof, Pretoria — the South African suburb where he killed Steenkamp, who was just 29 years of age at the time of her death.
Prior to his conviction, Pistorius won six Paralympic gold medals and made history at London 2012 when he became the first double amputee to compete in an Olympic Games.
But following his release, he is reportedly nowhere near the world of athletics.
Instead, the Daily Mail has revealed he is occupying a position at a sound engineering company, according to locals in the area.
However, the specific role Pistorius has is not known.
A resident said: “We don’t want to know about him around here. He’s like a ghost.
“He’s disappeared off the face of the Earth and most people are happy for it to stay like that.
“Apparently he has a job now, although no major company would go near him.”
Pistorius now lives with his uncle Arnold and a mini poodle in a house that includes a swimming pool, gym, and security.
He was released under strict parole conditions, which will remain in place until his sentence expires in 2029.
In November 2023, a parole board decided he could be freed on January 5, 2024.
Pistorius will be monitored by an official until his sentence expires.
He will need to inform them if he seeks out any job opportunities or moves to a new address.
He will also be required to continue anger management therapy and attend sessions on gender-based violence, a lawyer for the Steenkamp family said in November.
Pistorius shot Steenkamp four times, in the head, hip and arm.
He later claimed that it was only when he broke the bathroom door down that he realized it was his girlfriend.
Pistorius insisted that he believed Steenkamp to be an intruder, as violent burglaries are common in South Africa.
However, his pleas did not sway the jury.
Steenkamp was born in 1983 in Cape Town and had been a model from the age of 14.
She would later appear in men’s magazine FHM as well as being the face of numerous beauty and jewelry brands in South Africa.
She studied law at university and, alongside her modeling career, worked as a legal assistant with hopes to be admitted to the bar.
A familiar face at red carpets in South Africa, as her fame grew, she also appeared on television and was a contestant on a reality TV show that didn’t broadcast until after her death.
She began dating Pistorius in November 2012, and by February the following year, the couple were living together in his Pretoria home.
It was in this home that her death occurred.
Steenkamp’s mother, June, reportedly did not oppose parole, a decision which is thought to have helped his prison release.
