‘Manosphere’ influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate arrested on rape, sex trafficking charges in Florida

‘Manosphere’ influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida Saturday in connection to rape and sex trafficking charges in the UK.

The pair were taken into custody outside of the James L. Knight Center in Miami shortly before Andrew was set to host IBA Bareknuckle 6, a bare-knuckle boxing event.

The Tates, who have both British and American citizenship, have faced legal troubles for years, and were nabbed because of a host of new sex crime charges handed down overseas.

Andrew, 39, was slapped with seven additional counts of rape – in addition to charges he was already facing in the UK – after four new victims came to light, The Crown Prosecution Service said in a statement.

He was also hit with “three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography,” per the statement. 

Tristan, 38, was charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, the release stated. 

The charges stem from incidents that occurred between July 2010 and August 2017, according to the statement. 

The UK is seeking the pair’s extradition. 

“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven,” Head of the Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service Malcolm McHaffie said in a statement. 

The US Marshals confirmed the Tates’ arrest to The Post in a statement but would not reveal the charges. 

The Tates’ attorney, Joe McBryde, disputed the charges and told The Post the arrest should not have occurred until their trials in Romania and a defamation case in Florida concluded. 

“This is like Keir Starmer’s last day in office; it’s obvious that this little petty bastard has nothing better to do than persecute these two guys he wishes he could act like, walk like and talk like,” he said.

The wild arrest was caught on video published by TMZ. 

Andrew, wearing a purple shirt, was seen being rushed by a US Marshal who slapped handcuffs on him after he emerged from a white van outside the arena.

As Andrew stands still, a man dressed in a bright golden jacket attempts to remove a his necklace.

Tate was then marched to the back of a black SUV.

Later, Tristan, wearing a suit, is seen being hauled away in cuffs.

“Tristan, anything to say?” a man is heard asking as the disgraced former kickboxer remained silent. 

In 2025, Andrew was hit with 10 charges of rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain in the UK related to three women, and Tristan received 11 charges of rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking related to one woman, CPS said. 

They were also arrested in Bucharest, Romania, in Dec. 2022 on charges of rape, trafficking minors, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women and later served three months in prison.

They were later put on house arrest in April 2023 before ultimately leaving Romania for the US in Feb. 2025.

Andrew and Tristan have long maintained their innocence. 

Andrew’s ex-girlfriend Lauren Southern alleged he raped her and choked her unconscious in her memoir “This is not Real Life.”

Southern, 31, alleged that the assault happened when she visited the Tates in Bucharest in 2018 when she was 22.  

She said that after she fell ill at a nightclub, Andrew picked her up, threw her in a car and took her to a hotel and allegedly raped her. 

“I was extraordinarily tired. He wanted to go further. I said no, very clearly, multiple times, and tried to pull his hands off me… [Tate then] put his arm around my neck and began strangling me unconscious,” she wrote.
