Selma Blair arrested for allegedly slugging flight attendant, biting another on NYC-bound flight; FBI investigating
Actress Selma Blair had a wild midair meltdown on a JFK-bound Delta Airlines flight over the weekend, slugging one flight attendant, biting another and trying to open the aircraft’s door, authorities said.
The out-of-control “Cruel Intentions” star had to be placed in a restraint on the flight from Los Angeles and was hauled off the plane when it landed at Kennedy Airport in Queens while screaming maniacally, “Please stop! No, no! Please don’t! Let me go!”
She was then taken to Jamaica Hospital — kicking a cop repeatedly in the head and attacking a nurse along the way, according to law-enforcement sources familiar with the situation.
A pilot was heard on the radio alerting authorities on the ground to an “abusive” flyer, saying, “It sounds like the disruptive passenger also bashed her head on the bulkhead or something like that,” according to TMZ.
As for the injuries to the people she allegedly attacked, he said, “A bloody nose as well as some bite marks.
“Could you pass on to the folks at JFK we’d like to have some medical personnel at the gates for a couple of [flight attendants] involved in the passenger incident,” the pilot said.
The two flight attendants Blair attacked were seriously injured — with one so badly hurt that she had to be hospitalized, police said. One of them was bitten on the hand, while the other suffered a cut, sources said.
Blair, 54 — who has battled multiple sclerosis for years — was set to be charged by the feds for the attack on the flight attendants and by state authorities for assaulting the police officer and the hospital nurse, sources said.
“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct,” her rep later said in a statement.

“Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”
The actress, who had a service dog with her on the plane, was met at the hospital by her lawyer.
Blair, whose film credits also include “Legally Blonde” and “Hellboy,” has seen her career hampered following an anti-Islamic Instagram post in 2024.
The controversial actress has been called out for bizarre behavior in the past and admitted in her 2022 memoir, “Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up,” that she’s bitten several stars over the years, including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Seth MacFarlane.
She had at least one other airline meltdown, when she went nuts on a flight in 2016 and had to be removed on a stretcher, TMZ said.
Blair takes medication to treat her MS symptoms and has been open about battling the disease since childhood before being officially diagnosed nealry eight years ago.
The Port Authority Police, who oversee the airports, said in a statement about Sunday’s incident,
“At approximately 11pm at JFK Airport, PAPD responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Airlines flight 938 which was parked at the gate after arrival from LAX.
“Suspect was identified as Selma Blair, a 54 year-old woman. She was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation. Two flight attendants also reported injuries, and one was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The FBI is investigating this incident.”
