The US launched self-defense strikes on Iranian radar strikes in response to \u201caggression\u201d shown by the clerical regime \u2013 while Tehran says it retaliated by striking an air base used by the US amid talks to end the three-month-old war.<\/p>\n

Strikes on Iranian radar and command sites located in the city of Goruk and Qeshm, an island located in the Strait of Hormuz, were carried out this weekend in response to \u201caggressive Iranian actions that included the shootdown of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters,\u201d Central Command said Sunday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cU.S. fighter aircraft swiftly responded by eliminating Iranian air defenses, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that posed clear threats to ships transiting regional waters.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo American service members were harmed. CENTCOM will continue to protect U.S. assets and interests in response to unwarranted Iranian aggression during the ongoing ceasefire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Qeshm Island, which is dubbed Tehran\u2019s \u201cunsinkable aircraft carrier\u201d by western military analysts, is surrounded by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy and is home to an underground \u201cmissile city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Iran claims to have targeted an airbase used by the US, without naming it.<\/p>\n

Air defences in Kuwait, where a major US base is located, were \u201cconfronting hostile missile and drone attacks\u201d on Monday, the country\u2019s army said on social media.<\/p>\n

Iran carried out the attack in response to a strike on a communications tower in Sirik County, located in the country\u2019s Hormozgan province, according to the Tasnim News Agency.<\/p>\n

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force has since warned that if US \u201caggression\u201d continues, the response will be \u201centirely different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brigadier General Majid Ebn al-Reza, the regime\u2019s caretaker defense minister, warned the US Sunday \u201cOur finger remains on the trigger\u201d and \u201cnew surprises are on the way,\u201d without divulging further.<\/p>\n

Talks over a peace deal are ongoing \u2013 but Secretary of War Pete Hegseth didn\u2019t rule out attacks on the regime restarting if there\u2019s no deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur ability to recommence if necessary\u2026we are more than capable,\u201d Hegseth said in Singapore over the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur stockpiles are more than \u200bsuited for that, both there and around the globe, \u200bso we\u2019re in a very good place.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Trump has once again lashed out at critics who are urging him to strike a deal just to end the conflict.<\/p>\n
