WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 The first six Yankees were retired in order Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

It took another 13 batters before they made another out.<\/p>\n

During a 43-minute top of the third inning at Sutter Health Park, the Yankees turned a three-run deficit into a 13-3 lead over the Athletics \u2014 sending 18 men to the plate, with 15 of them reaching base and 13 of them scoring, somehow all without ever leaving the park.<\/p>\n

In a true station-to-station rally, the Yankees racked up 11 hits (eight singles, two doubles, one triple) and four walks while facing three different Athletics pitchers and seeing 75 pitches. <\/p>\n

The first 12 batters all reached before Michael Kelly, who relieved lefty starter Jacob Lopez, got Paul Goldschmidt to strike out looking.<\/p>\n

Anthony Volpe, Ben Rice and Cody Bellinger each had two hits in the inning \u2014 including Rice belting a two-run double and a two-run triple.<\/p>\n

It marked the fifth time since 1974 that a team scored 12 runs in an inning without hitting a home run, per the Associated Press.<\/p>\n

In the Triple-A stadium without any access to the clubhouse from the dugouts, Will Warren had to trot out to the Yankees\u2019 bullpen during the second pitching change to get some throws in because of the long wait.<\/p>\n

Finally, after Trent Grisham flew out to mercifully end the frame, Warren jogged in from the bullpen to continue his outing.<\/p>\n
