The Orange County football mom accused of allegedly swiping more than $400,000 from a high school team was living a picture-perfect life of beach escapes, football games, and family fun \u2014 while her husband says he had no clue what was allegedly happening behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

Molina\u2019s husband had just left before her arrest, according to ABC. <\/p>\n

He told the outlet \u201che had no idea\u201d about his wife\u2019s alleged crime spree.<\/p>\n

The family\u2019s Facebook page offered a glossy glimpse into their seemingly charmed life: Notre Dame tailgates, stunning beaches, tropical-looking waters, poolside drinks beneath palm trees and frequent trips to new destinations.<\/p>\n

They were regulars at SoFi Stadium, decked out in Pittsburgh Steelers gear, while other posts showed football gear, holiday celebrations and trips to New York complete with horse-and-carriage rides.<\/p>\n

Disneyland outings were also a regular feature, along with photos from fancy restaurants and beautiful beach sunsets.<\/p>\n

One image seemed to show some sort of partnership with a beef ranch.<\/p>\n

The family\u2019s Aliso Viejo home was valued at $1.4 million, according to the indictment.<\/p>\n

Then the FBI came calling.<\/p>\n

Federal agents swarmed the home early Thursday morning, with gun-toting officers using a bullhorn to order Molina to \u201ccome out with your hands up.\u201d<\/p>\n

She emerged from the front door a few minutes later, looking shocked, before being cuffed and placed in a black sedan.<\/p>\n

Her husband appeared \u201cconfused\u201d after FBI agents drove his wife away, according to ABC.<\/p>\n

Molina, 56, had served as treasurer of an Orange County nonprofit described in the indictment as a volunteer organization established to promote and enhance a high school football program.<\/p>\n

The victim has been identified as the Wolverines Football Club.<\/p>\n

Investigators and school officials believe Molina\u2019s son played football, and he appeared to be a lineman.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege that the trusted football mom used her position to siphon $411,761.54 from the organization.<\/p>\n

A federal grand jury returned the indictment Sept. 2, alleging the scheme began in or around 2023 and continued through around November 2025.<\/p>\n

As treasurer, Molina had significant access to the nonprofit\u2019s finances, including the ability to co-sign checks, make approved disbursements and receive dues and other money.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege she instead diverted money without the nonprofit\u2019s knowledge or authorization, using some of it to pay her personal mortgage and credit-card expenses.<\/p>\n

In June 2023, Molina allegedly wired approximately $131,523 from the nonprofit\u2019s bank account in Laguna Hills, through Federal Reserve facilities in New Jersey and Texas, to an account in Santa Ana to pay the delinquent balance on her personal mortgage.<\/p>\n

She allegedly tried to keep the money trail hidden by emailing fellow booster-board members false treasurer reports that failed to disclose the alleged misappropriation \u2014 helping preserve the appearance of a normal, successful \u201cfootball mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Molina is charged with four federal counts of wire fraud.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles\u2019 top federal prosecutor Bill Essayli said the allegations amounted to a serious betrayal of trust.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis defendant was entrusted by the community with safeguarding money raised for young adults. She violated that trust and is now a charged felon,\u201d Essayli told The California Post.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

\u201cOur prosecutors are committed to holding her fully accountable, including seeking a federal prison sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n

If convicted, Molina faces a statutory maximum of 20 years in federal prison for each count. Prosecutors are also seeking forfeiture, including the $1.4 million Aliso Viejo property.<\/p>\n

If it cannot be forfeited, the government seeks a money judgment equal to its value.<\/p>\n

And because Molina is a Certified Public Accountant, law enforcement is now asking businesses, charities and youth groups that hired her to review their financial histories over concerns she may have had access to other organizations\u2019 money.<\/p>\n
