DALLAS \u2014 A Mexican flag-waving\u00a0man dressed in a purple shirt crashed Vice President JD Vance\u2019s\u00a0speech to\u00a0the\u00a0Republican midterm convention, prompting the veep to go off script.<\/p>\n

Chants of \u201cUSA\u201d broke out as security rushed over to the man who stood not far from the far-left corner of the stage as Vance addressed the jubilant crowd of the MAGA faithful for the GOP midterm convention.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, my friend, if you love Mexico so much, get your ass over there,\u201d Vance quipped as security dragged him away.<\/p>\n

\u201cLadies and gentlemen, I had a whole speech written,\u201d the veep continued. \u201cBut I think I gotta change it because we just discovered the symbol of the far left: an idiot waving \u2026 a Mexican flag at a protest when he should be waving the flag of the United States of America.\u201d<\/p>\n

In contrast to President Trump, who deviated dramatically from his pre-planned remarks during his barn-busting headliner speech to the convention Wednesday, Vance had largely stuck to the script until the protester spiced things\u00a0up for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs much as that person might wave around a foreign flag, he\u2019d much rather live in Dallas or in Cincinnati, or in any one of our great cities than Mexico,\u201d Vance stressed. \u201cBut while we wave the American flag and fight for the American dream, we\u00a0have to\u00a0remind ourselves tonight that the good\u00a0life that\u00a0is the foundation of this country\u2019s promise is not guaranteed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd this fall,\u00a0the Democrats are running candidates who will tell your children what they\u2019re allowed to say, how they\u2019re allowed to live, and, importantly, who they ought to hate,\u201d the veep went on. \u201cBecause that\u2019s what the Democrat Party is about in 2026. It\u2019s not about you. It\u2019s about who they hate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about foreign fraudsters, and it\u2019s about who they hate, and\u00a0we\u00a0got to send their asses back\u00a0into\u00a0November.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vance then pivoted back to his prepared remarks.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s interruption marked the first time during the two-day GOP gathering in the American Airlines Center that a protester\u00a0had\u00a0managed to sneak into the arena and interrupt a speech.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After Vance wrapped up, he welcomed\u00a0Lee Greenwood to the stage to perform Trump\u2019s de facto anthem, \u201cGod Bless the USA.\u201d\u00a0Trump then took the stage for what he said would be \u201ca little bit brief\u201d speech relative to the roughly 2-hour address he delivered on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
