Aaron Rodgers went deep Thursday, bringing up old stories including his engagement to actress Shailene Woodley.<\/p>\n

On a part-two episode of \u201cNot Just Football with Cam Heyward,\u201d Rodgers claimed he didn\u2019t \u201cruin\u201d Woodley\u2019s life but she instead left him for another man in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cI proposed to Shailene and she said yes. Now, she maybe felt like she was forced to make a decision. She could have said no,\u201d he said. \u201cA couple days after that she tells me, \u2018Before we get married, I gotta go f\u2013k this guy,\u2019 and I\u2019m like \u2014 because her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her. But in actuality, she told me that and then she took off the ring by March \u2014 I proposed in December \u2014 and we had a couple of times where we tried to get reunited and nothing ever happened. There wasn\u2019t even a relationship in 2022 to break off.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe literally told me, \u2018I don\u2019t want to be with you\u2019 after we tried some reconciliation in 2021. There\u2019s just a lot of narrative out there that isn\u2019t true.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodgers also referenced another failed relationship while teeing off on Woodley, with ex-flame Danica Patrick being singled out during the segment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe height of their fame was when they were with me,\u201d he said. \u201cThey get clicks when they say my name, just like the idiots on TV because I am a lightning rod, because people actually give a s\u2013t and there is a silent majority that\u2019s like, \u2018I like this guy, he stands for something.\u2019 There\u2019s a group of people that are like, \u2018I like the old guy.\u2019 \u2026 Stop talking about me, you\u2019re not relevant, move on with your life. You\u2019re lying.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m actually a good partner. I don\u2019t wish you any harm \u2026 and Shai, you left me, you took the ring off. What are we talking about regarding me ruining your life?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 42-year-old Super Bowl champ proposed to the \u201cDivergent\u201d star in December 2021 before things were cut off in March 2022, a little more than a year after the two made their relationship public.<\/p>\n

They split again in April. <\/p>\n

In 2024, Woodley, 34, shared details about the break up that surrounded a traumatic event she went through that year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a really awful, traumatic thing happen in early 2022,\u201d Woodley said, without getting into specific detail about her trauma. \u201cI felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy. I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said she chose to stay in a \u201ctoxic situation\u201d because she was empathizing with \u201csomeone else\u201d but Woodley did not name the person. <\/p>\n

Woodley said her depression began to fade six months after her traumatic experience, and much of that came from the help of her stylist Kris Zero. <\/p>\n

\u201cI knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing. That was the lowest low of my life,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Rodgers is in his swang song NFL year as he stated he plans to retire following the 2026 season. <\/p>\n
