DALLAS\u00a0\u2014 House Speaker Mike Johnson warned that far-left wingers of the Democratic Party \u2014 including Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez \u2014 are the most dangerous politicians in the US.<\/p>\n

Johnson (R-La.) also said that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) will face a \u201cnightmare\u201d next year when the new batch of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are sworn into Congress \u2014 though he predicted Dems will still be in the minority. <\/p>\n

\u201cI would say there\u2019s a type,\u201d Johnson told The Post when asked about the \u201cmost dangerous\u201d politician in the country. \u201cIt\u2019s the Mamdani, El-Sayed, AOC wing of the party that is a danger to the whole country, because they do not believe in the founding principles of America.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have disdain for American principles, and they want to take us down a dark, dangerous road,\u201d the speaker further warned on the sidelines of the Republican midterm convention. \u201cAnd it\u2019s not just one individual; it\u2019s that trend that we\u2019re seeing. There are many Mamdanis who popped up all around the country, and they don\u2019t understand history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson and his GOP colleagues in Congress have been touting legislative accomplishments, including tax cuts, during Trump\u2019s second term while also painting a dark picture to convention attendees of what\u2019s at stake if Democrats take the House.<\/p>\n

DSA candidates won seven Democratic primaries during this cycle, including several in Jeffries\u2019 backyard. Additionally, a crop of hardcore lefty candidates like El-Sayed in Michigan, who aren\u2019t technically DSA but espouse far-left policies, emerged victorious. <\/p>\n

Throughout his speakership, Johnson has had to grapple with slim majorities and multiple Republican lawmakers who have been willing to break ranks on critical votes. But Johnson predicted Jeffries\u2019 dilemma will be worse.<\/p>\n

\u201cJeffries is going to have a nightmare on his hands, but it\u2019s a very different challenge than the one I have in the Republican conference,\u201d he said. \u201cMy task every day is to get all the conservatives together, the rugged individualists, and all their ideas, and find a consensus.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHakeem has the opposite approach. He is going to have people in his conference who hate America, hate its founding principles, and want to blow it up \u2014 figuratively, in legislation,\u201d the speaker went on. \u201cThey want to tear down all the foundational principles of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite their fierce differences, Johnson revealed that he has \u201ca very cordial relationship\u201d with his Democratic counterpart, adding that \u201cI like Hakeem as a person, and I obviously have great empathy for the challenge that he has to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two years ago, Jeffries famously helped bail out Johnson from a revolt staged by former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) over his decision to allow a vote on aid to Ukraine. Democrats voted \u201cpresent\u201d to save Johnson from the ouster effort. <\/p>\n

But some members of House GOP leadership are doubtful that they\u2019ll even be working with Jeffries next year. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe can\u2019t control his caucus now,\u201d House GOP Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) told The Post. \u201cHow\u2019s he going to control it next year if all these crazies get in; if all these communists get in, the writing\u2019s on the wall.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWho even knows if he\u2019s going to be [leader] next year?\u201d she added. <\/p>\n

The Post contacted Jeffries\u2019 and Mamdani\u2019s offices for comment. <\/p>\n

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) rejected the label DSA or progressive. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey are communists. DSA is a nonsense term,\u201d he said. \u201cThey both have the same goal: it\u2019s to control human beings. It\u2019s authority. It\u2019s just that one does it by the ballot box, and the other one does it by force.\u201d<\/p>\n

All three GOP leaders were bullish about Republicans\u2019 chances of holding onto the House despite all the chatter among the pundit class of an impending blue wave. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe recruited extraordinary candidates. [We have] a very strong message,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cThey have a fundraising advantage right now in the entire Republican ecosystem. We\u2019ve raised far more funds than Democrats for the first time in a decade.\u201d<\/p>\n
