A female juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has defended the lone male holdout \u2013 admitting that he \u201cwas not the only one that was unwilling to see things from the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n

The woman, who spoke to WBZ-TV on condition of anonymity, served as juror No. 5 in the high-profile Massachusetts trial, which ended Friday in a hung jury with an 11-1 split.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day, there was so much doubt,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe prosecution didn\u2019t have a figurative smoking gun. There was not a single moment throughout the presentation of that case where you could say \u2018Yup, 100% I\u2019m certain she did it\u2019 or that she didn\u2019t do it. There was too much gray area.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said from the start of deliberations the majority of jurors \u2013 made up of nine women and three men \u2013 were trying to convince the lone holdout to change his vote, CBS reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe majority of people, it doesn\u2019t matter what side they were on, were very firm in their stance and their belief from the beginning,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
