Pals of failed congressional hopeful Jack Schlossberg are reportedly trying to set him up with newly single Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez \u2014 but the Kennedy scion jokingly told The Post he\u2019d never have a shot.<\/p>\n

Schlossberg, 33, has been \u201cdown in the dumps\u201d since his bid to snag a Manhattan congressional nomination flopped in June \u2014 and the six-pack sad sack\u2019s friends are now trying to finagle a meet-up with the 36-year-old Democratic darling AOC to nurse his political wounds, the Daily News reported.<\/p>\n

At the very least, Schlossberg\u2019s pals think a set-up might land him a job in AOC\u2019s New York office, according to the report.<\/p>\n

Schlossberg self-effacingly laughed it all off when asked about the notion by The Post on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI respect her a lot \u2014 she can do way better than me!\u201d said Schlossberg, who publicly proclaimed in June that he is on the hunt for a \u201csoulmate.\u201d<\/p>\n

But insiders familiar with both the lonely-hearted Democrats told The Post they disagree with Schlossberg\u2019s own assessment of his chances with his fellow lefty \u2014 insisting his reputed friend matchmakers might be on to something.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose two would actually get along great together,\u201d a source said. \u201cThey believe government is a force of good. They\u2019d at least be good friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Schlossberg \u2014 the grandson of slain President John F. Kennedy \u2014 and AOC have also going through hard times these days \u2014 something they may be able to chat about over a bottle of Chianti and some flowers.<\/p>\n

Schlossberg has reportedly been smarting since he earned just 10% of the vote for his congressional run and has holed up in his family\u2019s Martha\u2019s Vineyard home while he licks his wounds.<\/p>\n

And Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s love life has been splashed across the headlines after news broke she and her longtime fianc\u00e9 Riley Roberts had split for reasons that remain unclear.<\/p>\n

Jack and Alexandria are also lovers of social media, both being prolific posters on Instagram and leveraging the platform to give voters inside looks at their personal lives.<\/p>\n

Their overlap even goes back years \u2014 Ocasio-Cortez got her political start in the office of Schlossberg\u2019s uncle Ted Kennedy, who she interned for while she attended Boston University.<\/p>\n

And most importantly, Schlossberg is not a Republican \u2014 an affiliation AOC recently told TMZ would be one of her biggest dealbreakers in the game of love. <\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Schlossberg insisted AOC was way out of his league.<\/p>\n
