The Lindsay Clancy-obsessed mom accused of hanging her 2-year-old son before trying to kill herself has retained notorious \u201ctot mom\u201d Casey Anthony\u2019s former lawyer, known as the \u201cAngel of Death Row.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mother-of-four Corie Walsh, 40, is charged with murdering her son Barrett Walsh at their home in Frankfort, Illinois, on Sept 1. \u2013\u2013 just hours after discussing Clancy\u2019s trial for killing her three children with exercise bands before attempting suicide.<\/p>\n

Walsh is being represented by Andrea Lyon \u2013\u2013 an attorney who previously made headlines when she worked on the defense of Florida mom Anthony when she was accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008.<\/p>\n

Dubbed the \u201cAngel of Death Row\u201d because of her record of wins in death penalty cases, former law school dean Lyon was a member of Anthony\u2019s legal team in the lead-up to her trial in 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a tragedy for the Walsh family all of whom are mourning the loss of this child,\u201d Lyon said in a statement she provided to The Post regarding her new client\u2019s case.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is also a tragedy in that Corie herself was experiencing a psychotic episode at the time this happened.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is our hope that through a thorough presentation and investigation of the facts, that all of us will come to see this heartbreak for what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Walsh allegedly described her son Barrett to cops as the \u201canti-Christ\u201d and the \u201cdevil\u201d after he was found hanging by his neck from the rafters by a horrified neighbor.<\/p>\n

The unnamed female neighbor discovered the toddler\u2019s lifeless body hanging by a rope around his neck and with his feet off the ground in the basement of the family\u2019s home, according to court documents obtained by CNN.<\/p>\n

The same neighbor also found Walsh upstairs in a bathtub \u201cactively harming herself\u201d with a knife and with cuts to her thighs and wrists, according to the documents.<\/p>\n

The neighbor took the knife from Walsh and then pressed a towel over a wound in her thigh.<\/p>\n

Walsh asked why she had taken the knife as she was trying to kill herself, the documents state.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors claim that Walsh was texting friends about the Clancy case just hours before the horror unfolded and while jurors in Massachusetts continued their deliberations in the high-profile trial, NBC 5 Chicago reported.<\/p>\n

According to witnesses, Walsh had \u201crecently become very invested in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial,\u201d the outlet said, citing court documents.<\/p>\n

The Clancy trial, which gripped the country for over six weeks, culminated in a mistrial Friday after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on whether to convict her of her murder or find her not guilty by reason of insanity.<\/p>\n

Clancy admitted that she strangled her three kids with exercise bands in January 2023 before jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed.<\/p>\n

Her defense team argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and overprescribed psychiatric medications.<\/p>\n

For her part, Anthony was accused of suffocating her daughter, Caylee, who was reported missing in 2008 after she hadn\u2019t been seen for more than a month.<\/p>\n

The tot\u2019s remains were found months later wrapped in duct tape inside a laundry bag in woodlands near her family\u2019s home outside Orlando.<\/p>\n

Anthony was charged with her murder \u2014 but a jury acquitted her after a 2011 trial that drew tens of millions of viewers from around the world.<\/p>\n

Chicago-based Lyon, of the Lyon & Kerr firm, joined Anthony\u2019s defense team as a death penalty expert in May 2009, according to the Orlando Sentinel.<\/p>\n

She quit in July 2010, with Anthony\u2019s lead attorney Jose Baez citing \u201cfinancial issues.\u201d<\/p>\n
