Lululemon\u2019s billionaire founder Chip Wilson is divorcing his wife of 20 years \u2014 without a prenuptial agreement in place, according to a report. <\/p>\n

Wilson, whose net worth is valued at $6.1 billion, and his wife Shannon \u201cSummer\u201d Wilson are calling it quits, Bloomberg reported, citing two people familiar with their conversations who shared that the couple has no prenup. <\/p>\n

There is ongoing family litigation between the Canadian couple in the British Columbia Supreme Court, but the files, first filed in April, are sealed, according to the outlet. <\/p>\n

The two wed in 2002 and were longtime business collaborators. Shannon, 52, was one of the athleisure brand\u2019s first hires and served as its founding lead designer. Chip, 71, credited his wife for playing a huge part in growing the brand into an $11 billion company. <\/p>\n

Both left Lululemon more than a decade ago, but Chip remains one of its biggest shareholders, owning 8.6% of its shares \u2014 worth nearly $1 billion. <\/p>\n

Chip, who was born in the United States but was raised in Canada, stepped down as chairman of the board at Lululemon Athletica in 2013 after a string of public gaffes.<\/p>\n

He once notoriously blamed overweight customers for having to recall pants at his store that were so sheer that women\u2019s rears were visible through them. <\/p>\n

\u201cQuite frankly, some women\u2019s bodies just actually don\u2019t work for [the pants],\u201d Chip said at the time.<\/p>\n

He also slammed Lululemon\u2019s \u201cwhole diversity and inclusion thing\u201d and said that the brand had become bland in the years after he left.<\/p>\n

The founder said in a 2024 Forbes interview that the chain had \u201cbecome like the Gap, everything to everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the definition of a brand is that you\u2019re not everything to everybody. You\u2019ve got to be clear that you don\u2019t want certain customers coming in,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He went on to blast the company\u2019s choice to have \u201cunhealthy\u201d and \u201csickly\u201d people in ads, who he said are \u201cnot inspirational.\u201d <\/p>\n

Despite no longer working at Lululemon, Chip has exerted his power as one of the top shareholders to try to influence the company\u2019s direction.<\/p>\n

He engaged in a proxy battle against the company\u2019s leadership in December 2025, slamming them as \u201ccomplacent\u201d amid declining sales. <\/p>\n

Shannon, who went on to found the luxury retail brand Kit and Ace, owns a 1% stake in the clothing chain worth approximately $100 million. <\/p>\n
