PLYMOUTH, Mass. \u2013 Lindsay Clancy returned to court Wednesday as jurors kicked off their fifth day of deliberations after telling the judge yesterday they couldn\u2019t reach a verdict.<\/p>\n

The panel has been attempting to come to a unanimous decision for just over 23 hours since they started last Thursday. They informed Judge William Sullivan they were at an impasse yesterday around 10 a.m., but he told them to keep at it.<\/p>\n

The jury is deliberating whether the 36-year-old Duxbury mom should be held criminally responsible for first-degree murder for strangling her three kids, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, with exercise bands on Jan. 24, 2023.<\/p>\n

Clancy claims she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity on the grounds she was allegedly in the throes of severe postpartum psychosis during the slayings and her subsequent suicide attempt<\/p>\n

Jurors continue deliberations after delay in proceedings<\/h2>\n

The jurors have been released to continue deliberations after a brief delay this morning so the judge could question the panel one by one.<\/p>\n

“I know when I just spoke to all of you two minutes ago I said I have one question,” Judge William Sullivan said. “I have two more questions.”<\/p>\n

The judge asked the panelists the same questions he has asked them at the start of each day: whether they have “read, seen or heard” anything that would affect their ability to be fair and impartial jurors and whether they had any other concern they needed to disclose.<\/p>\n

“Thank you so much for following those instructions,” Sullivan said. “I’m going to ask you to go resume your deliberations at this time.”<\/p>\n

The jurors are now in their 23rd hour of deliberations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n

No one else in the courtroom could hear what the judge was saying because of a white noise machine that blocks out sidebar conversations.<\/p>\n

A court officer escorted each panelist into the room and then they were asked to raise their hands and take an oath before he questioned them.<\/p>\n

They each appeared to answer no and shake their heads at the question.<\/p>\n

Lindsay Clancy\u2019s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, said the fact that a woman was arrested for allegedly photographing jurors \u201cdoesn\u2019t affect us at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

The defense attorney made the comments on his way into court this morning.<\/p>\n

Dawn Light of Sutton, Massachusetts,\u00a0was cuffed outside\u00a0of the court where Clancy\u2019s trial has been underway Tuesday afternoon on claims she was filming jury members.<\/p>\n

When asked of Reddington would file a motion for mistrial based on Light\u2019s alleged actions he said: \u201cNo, why?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n

Judge William Sullivan issued a stern warning to everyone following the Lindsay Clancy trial to obey the rules of the court after a woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly filming jurors.<\/p>\n

“I wanted to remind everybody here and elsewhere there has been an order that has been issued with regards to the conducting of this case as well as statutes in this Commonwealth which relate to jurors, witnesses, attorneys and others in regards to this proceeding,” Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

“And everybody should be well aware that that order and that statute is being enforced and will be enforced. I just kind of wanted to put that out there with no further follow-up or editorial comment.”<\/p>\n

Sullivan did not specifically mention the arrest of Dawn Light yesterday for allegedly filming jurors.<\/p>\n

After, Sullivan called the lawyers to sidebar.<\/p>\n

Then he started calling each juror in one by one and asking them something. The panelists so far have been shaking their heads and saying, “No.”<\/p>\n
