Steve Hilton has the ideas, the energy, and the optimism to turn California around.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That is why The California Post is endorsing him for governor.<\/p>\n

Hilton has spent years analyzing California\u2019s challenges and coming up with solutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Years ago, he launched an organization, Golden Together, to push for change.<\/p>\n

And today, Hilton is running a campaign on common sense.<\/p>\n

For too long, the world\u2019s fourth-largest economy has been governed like a Third World basket case.<\/p>\n

One-party rule has been a disaster for California \u2014 for 16 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Endless rules. Transgender madness. Unions controlling everything.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s our finances.<\/p>\n

Arnold Schwarzenegger\u2019s last budget in 2010 was $122 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gavin Newsom\u2019s last budget: $349 billion, almost three times higher.<\/p>\n

Does our state feel three times better? Cleaner? Happier? No.<\/p>\n

Newsom likes to attack Republicans. But when he runs for president, he won\u2019t run on his record.<\/p>\n

When Newsom took office, the state counted over 151,000 homeless people.<\/p>\n

Seven and-a-half years and billions of dollars later, there are over 187,000 homeless, even after a drop last year.<\/p>\n

And the state continues to pour billions into a high-speed rail project that has not laid an inch of track.<\/p>\n

California used to be a place people came to chase their dreams. Now, it is a place people leave to start over elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Wealthy residents started leaving even before the \u201cbillionaire tax\u201d made the ballot.<\/p>\n

That is why California needs Steve Hilton \u2014 urgently.<\/p>\n

He will end taxes for those earning less than $100k per year.<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll end the high-speed \u201ctrain to nowhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll cut the gas tax and end the war on refineries.<\/p>\n

It is all part of his effort to achieve \u201cCalaffordia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Already, through his \u201cCal DOGE,\u201d Hilton has found $250 billion in waste and fraud that he can stop.<\/p>\n

He will clean up homeless encampments, if cities refuse.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI will do it using state law enforcement resources,\u201d Hilton\u00a0told The California Post.<\/p>\n

On housing, Hilton challenges the \u201cgreen\u201d lobby and its \u201cdensification\u201d orthodoxy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBuild outwards, not upwards,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

His ideas are so good that Democrats are copying them.<\/p>\n

Hilton has also shown mature leadership that contrasts with Newsom\u2019s petulant style.<\/p>\n

He says California needs to work with the federal government, not against it \u2014 no matter who occupies the Oval Office.<\/p>\n

Other candidates for governor are just not up to the job.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Xavier Becerra mismanaged the Biden administration\u2019s Health and Human Services department.<\/p>\n

He forced vaccine mandates on Americans and lost track of tens of thousands of migrant children.<\/p>\n

Billionaire Tom Steyer has blown $200 million on a bad impersonation of socialist Bernie Sanders. There is no left-wing idea too radical for him to embrace.<\/p>\n

Katie Porter\u2019s habit of losing her temper wasn\u2019t just a one-off. Running a state as complicated and diverse as California needs a steadier hand.<\/p>\n
