Enes Kanter Freedom has stated his side of the story about what went down with Natasha Cloud inside Wintrust Arena on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

The former NBA player was ejected from the Sky-Fever game after a heated interaction with the Sky guard, who Freedom claimed said he was trying to \u201csleep with\u201d Indiana guard Sophie Cunningham. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a huge fan of basketball. I\u2019m a huge fan of women\u2019s basketball and I was there to watch the game and I was really excited because I\u2019m a huge fan of the Fever. I was literally there to watch the game and then the first half went amazing,\u201d Freedom told Fox News. \u201cI was having so much fun with my friends and stuff. And then it was towards the end of the third quarter, Sophie Cunningham shot a three and I put my hands up to celebrate.<\/p>\n

\u201cLiterally a couple of possessions later, Natasha [Cloud] came back and started screaming and yelling and said \u2018She\u2019s not going to sleep with you.\u2019 And I was like \u2018I\u2019m not trying to sleep with her. I\u2019m just here to protect women and support her.\u2019 And then obviously after that she started yappin\u2019 and she started to walk towards me and litertally I just got up and I was like \u2018I\u2019m just here to protect women and that\u2019s all.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Freedom went on to say Cloud used \u201cvery heavy language\u201d which he was \u201cshocked\u201d by considering the young fans in the crowd. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just cannot believe that she was just cussing and using those f-bombs in front of all these and that is not \u2014 I mean, I\u2019m sure she is loved in Chicago and many kids are idiolizing her and stuff but that\u2019s not [how] a WNBA athlete should react,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Following the altercation, security removed Freedom from the arena and the former Celtics player claimed they did not give him a reason for being kicked out. <\/p>\n

\u201cAfter that, the security guard came and was like \u2018Listen, you need to leave.\u2019 I was like \u2018Can you please tell me why do I need to leave?\u2019 They said \u2018Look, you just need to leave.\u2019 And then they literally \u2014 I don\u2019t want to say they dragged me \u2014 but like they pretty much pushed me to leave the gym,\u201d he said. \u201cAfter that I had a conversation with the police officers, which I respect a lot, I was like \u2018Listen, I was just there to protect women.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Cloud spoke out after the interaction on Threads.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo every trans kid\/person, You are apart of MY community & tribe. You belong. You\u2019re loved. You\u2019re seen. You\u2019re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me,\u201d the former Liberty guard wrote Sunday night. <\/p>\n

Sky coach Tyler Marsh also defended his player following the Fever\u2019s 113-90 win.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all embrace her as someone that protects our team, and protects people that need to be protected,\u201d he said. \u201cTash is always gonna stand on that, and we stand for Tash.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to the matchup, it was reported by TMZ that Freedom was going to be in attendence in Chicago. <\/p>\n

Freedom has thrust himself into the ongiong trangender athlete discourse that has taken over the WNBA within the last month.<\/p>\n

It was first sparked when Cunningham said she wants to \u201cprotect young girls\u201d from \u201cbiological men\u201d in sports in an ESPN feature.<\/p>\n

Following that, Freedom declared himself for 2027 WNBA Draft by posting a video of him signing his name to a document\u00a0that asks the WNBA to accept his \u201cdecision to enter the player pool for the 2027 WNBA Draft.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, he tested the league\u2019s policies further by claiming he had spoken to eight players\u00a0about entering the 2027 draft if the WNBA does not change or further clarify its eligibility standards.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe NBA G League pays players $45,000 a year, while the WNBA top players earn $1.4 million,\u201d he said in a video. \u201cThose men could earn an extra $1,355,000 a year by just identifying as women. Rules are rules.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the ongoing discourse, the league had an anti-hate task force meeting this month and found\u00a0\u201cno immediate eligibility matters affecting\u201d the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe strongly denounce the bad-faith efforts to use these topics to demean or marginalize others,\u201d a spokesperson for the league said.<\/p>\n
