The children of four-time Stanley Cup winner Claude Lemieux opened up on Thursday night following their father\u2019s tragic death.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lemieux died of an apparent suicide after he was found in the showroom of a furniture store he and his wife own in Lake Park, Fla., earlier Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

His son, Brendan, who is currently playing professional hockey in Switzerland and has played for several NHL clubs, and his daughter, Claudia, both paid tribute to Lemieux in social media posts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI love you dad! My son\u2019s favorite person is going to watch from above for a while. We will see you,\u201d Brendan wrote in an Instagram post, along with a photo of him posing with Lemieux, who was also holding Brendan\u2019s son.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He also shared several posts paying tribute to his dad on his Instagram Story.<\/p>\n

Claudia shared a remembrance from the Devils, for whom Lemieux played two stints from 1990 through 1995 and then again in 1999-2000.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNo words to express the level of devastation we feel,\u201d she wrote under the post on her Instagram Story. \u201cI love you forever daddy. Forever your only girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lemieux leaves behind four children, Brendan and Claudia, along with sons Michael and Christopher from his first marriage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brendan followed in his father\u2019s footsteps, playing professional hockey. He called his dad his \u201cbiggest role model on and off the ice\u201d in an interview with USA Today in 2014.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud of the career he had,\u201d he said. \u201cI definitely want to follow in his footsteps. I want to be the guy that can step up and be that playoff performer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bendan played parts of seven seasons in the NHL, including 109 games over three years with the Rangers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to multiple reports, the Palm Beach County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputies responded to the showroom following a suicide attempt. WPBF reported that one of his adult sons had discovered Lemieux.<\/p>\n
