He was 82. <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cJolene\u201d singer noted that she has made it through health issues in the past, noting that she was \u201cdown for several months with female issues\u201d in the early \u201980s. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not like I haven\u2019t been through hard times with my health,\u201d Parton said. <\/p>\n<p>However, she believes social media exacerbates fans\u2019 concerns for her well-being.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think because we live in a 24\/7 world with social media, everything gets magnified in ways it wasn\u2019t years ago,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cI used to joke that I was the Queen of the Tabloids, but now I guess I can say I\u2019m the Queen of Social Media AI!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Parton, 80, emphasized that she is \u201cstill workin&#8217;\u201d despite still being in the process of healing. <\/p>\n<p>Since she no longer has the energy for a traditional tour, Parton said she is in the \u201cearly stages of development\u201d with companies that create \u201cavatar performances.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Last week, fans grew concerned when Parton announced that she was canceling her Dollywood theme park appearance after her doctor told her she could not travel due to persisting \u201chealth issues.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m still in Nashville, and I\u2019m sorry about that,\u201d Parton shared on Aug. 14 while appearing virtually in a video at the opening ceremony of the theme park\u2019s new NightFlight Expedition roller coaster, the Knoxville News Sentinel and the Tennessean reported. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m supposed to be there in person, like we planned,\u201d she explained, adding, \u201cNow I\u2019ve told you before, all my fans, that I have had a few little health issues. And sometimes I get a little dizzy, and I get dehydrated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201c9 to 5\u201d artist, who was wearing fairy wings in the video, joked with the audience that her doctor \u201cclipped [her] wings\u201d and told her she \u201cain\u2019t traveling this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I guess if your doctor tells you you ain\u2019t traveling this week, you ain\u2019t traveling this week,\u201d she said before promising to keep her fans \u201cin the loop\u201d on her health. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=7166\">\u2018The Five Heartbeats\u2019 star Michael Wright dead at 70 after suffering heart failure<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Grammy-winning artist was forced to step back from the limelight in September 2025 after suffering kidney stones. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTurns out there was an infection, and the doctor said, \u2018You don\u2019t need to be traveling around this minute, so you need a few days to get better,\u2019\u201d Parton said in a video when she couldn\u2019t appear in person for another Dollywood event at the time. <\/p>\n<p>Shortly after, Parton postponed her Las Vegas residency due to \u201chealth challenges\u201d and a \u201cfew procedures\u201d \u2014 only to end up canceling the shows altogether, citing the need for more time to be \u201cup to stage performance level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe good news is I\u2019m responding really well to meds and treatments and I\u2019m improving every day,\u201d Parton assured her fans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I\u2019m going with that, and I just want you to know I thank you for standing by me and that I will always love you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In January, Parton also had to miss her 80th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry. <\/p>\n<p>But the \u201cI Will Always Love You\u201d songwriter did make a public appearance in June at the opening of her Dolly\u2019s Tennessean Travel Stop ribbon-cutting ceremony, where she appeared to be in good spirits. <\/p>\n<p>She is also continuing to work on her highly-anticipated Broadway production, \u201cDolly: A True Original Musical,\u201d\u00a0which she announced last month. Parton is producing the show, though she won\u2019t be starring in it. <\/p>\n<p>She did tell fans that the musical will be told  in her \u201cown words and through the music that\u2019s been part of [her] every step of the journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis really is a dream come true.
