{"id":7112,"date":"2026-08-21T19:39:38","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T19:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=7112"},"modified":"2026-08-21T19:39:38","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T19:39:38","slug":"nyc-neighbors-fight-inspires-tiktok-trend-to-harass-driveway-obsessed-homeowner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=7112","title":{"rendered":"NYC neighbors&#8217; fight inspires TikTok trend to harass driveway-obsessed homeowner"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Warning: Beware of man.<\/p>\n<p>A years-long feud between Brooklyn neighbors has sparked a crazy TikTok trend where strangers \u201charass\u201d a short-fused family by simply idling cars in their driveway.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=7110\">Work on Trump White House ballroom can continue, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts rules<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of drivers intentionally block Frank Chen\u2019s Bensonhurst property every week, looking to capture his visceral reaction in what antagonizers have dubbed a \u201cNYC tourist attraction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The driveway dispute has led to dozens of viral videos of Chen sprinting out of his front door within seconds of the cars pulling up in front of the \u201cno parking\u201d signs he\u2019s plastered across his fence \u2014 and spewing vitriol at the drivers.<\/p>\n<p>The homeowner, 65, hurled profanities, honked and threatened to plow his car forward when The Post pulled up on his driveway Tuesday, after assuming the reporters were \u201cTikTokkers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sick and tired of these TikTokkers,\u201d Chen fumed, saying he needs 24\/7 access because of his sick 94-year-old father who lives inside. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know why the TikTok people came here to harass us. We don\u2019t know each other. Why not leave us alone?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bizarre social media trend took off earlier this month after a man claiming to be their neighbor captured Chen and his daughter circling his car and ordering him to \u201cmove\u201d away from their driveway.<\/p>\n<p>The man, who did not respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment, encouraged the video\u2019s nearly 7 million viewers to put the family to the test \u2014 igniting dozens of copycat videos.<\/p>\n<p>As many as 10 drivers show up daily, Chen says, including some middle-of-the-night hecklers who rev their engines to wake the family.<\/p>\n<p>The Chens say the \u201charassment\u201d has been going on since they moved into the house in 2021 and noticed that their driveway was a popular spot for their neighbors and delivery drivers to idle.<\/p>\n<p>The family claims they were initially polite when asking them move, but were allegedly met with spitting, urinating on trees and even racist slurs from their neighbors that Chen\u2019s daughter documented on a YouTube channel \u201cThou Shall Not Harass Thy Neighbor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople think Asians are very quiet, that we don\u2019t stand up for ourselves. But I was not raised that way,\u201d Chen\u2019s daughter, who asked to remain anonymous, told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>One next-door neighbor was captured screaming \u201cching chong\u201d at the family before speeding off \u2014 a slur she says was \u201cprovoked\u201d by the Chens\u2019 aggressive behavior, which preceded the social media frenzy.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=7108\">Chilling messages reveal surprisingly simple way bumbling would-be NY Capitol bomber Jessica Bowie joined ISIS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey provoked me to say that because I couldn\u2019t even let my mother out of my car,\u201d said the neighbor, who asked only to be referred to as Snow, alleging that the Chens followed her even after she pulled out of their driveway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody stands behind me. Everybody has said racist s\u2013t towards them but it\u2019s because they provoke. Me saying that wasn\u2019t towards the Asian community, it was just towards that b\u2013tch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Snow admitted that it \u201cprobably wasn\u2019t right\u201d to hurl the ethnic slur at the Chens, but \u201cI hate her.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Chens have been \u201cnuisances\u201d towards neighbors for five years and don\u2019t even allow elderly pedestrians to rest beneath the sidewalk tree in front of their home, Snow says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone\u2019s suffering because of their mental problem, and that\u2019s not fair to everybody else,\u201d the neighbor said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they have such a problem with property, they could simply go live on a farm and live in peace if they don\u2019t like people that much. Why they would choose the city is beyond me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors have filed multiple 311 complaints claiming the Chens have an illegal driveway and have unpermitted construction going on in the home. The city Department of Buildings says it is sending inspectors in the coming days to investigate both claims, though city records show the property has a legal driveway.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the NYPD has taken at least a dozen complaints from the Chens for harassment, all of which have been closed after probing, according to sources.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Police told The Post they are in \u201ccontact with the residents and working with them to resolve this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cops advised the Chens to tone down their eruptions at idlers, but Chen cannot always help himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy are you doing this? Does this make your life better to harass people?
