Betting markets show Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the frontrunner to snag the Democrats\u2019 2028 presidential nomination.<\/p>\n

But despite earning $173,000 a year as a member of Congress, AOC refuses to pay back her student loans \u2014 a red flag that she has no respect for taxpayers.<\/p>\n

Her supporters claim her college loans make her relatable.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what happens when we elect normal people to Congress,\u201d leftist activist David Hogg posted approvingly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI need a president that\u2019s\u00a0still drowning in student loan debt with me,\u201d another fan wrote.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Relatable to the elite, maybe, but not to everybody.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Households in the top fifth for earnings\u00a0are three times more likely to have college debt than households in the bottom fifth of the economy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That means when doctors, lawyers and members of Congress don\u2019t pay their college loans, working stiffs who never got to go to college \u2014 bus drivers, waiters and sanitation workers \u2014 end up on the hook. Totally unfair.<\/p>\n

If we elect a student-loan deadbeat to our nation\u2019s highest office \u2014 the nation\u2019s first freeloader-in-chief \u2014 hold onto your wallet,\u00a0and prepare for financial calamity.<\/p>\n

Political analyst\u00a0Doug Schoen\u00a0last week warned that AOC \u201ccarries massive ideological baggage,\u201d but in truth she\u2019s hardly a Marxist scholar.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s a poster child for the economic illiteracy of Gen Z and Millennial Democratic Socialists.<\/p>\n

The congresswoman, who graduated in 2011, currently owes between $15,000 and $19,000 in student loans\u00a0\u2014 after owing\u00a0$19,000 in\u00a02019.<\/p>\n

Seven years and she\u2019s barely made a dent\u00a0in her obligation.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s single, with no dependents. \u00a0<\/p>\n

But she\u2019s announced with great fanfare that she\u2019s planning to freeze her eggs \u2014 an expensive proposition. \u00a0<\/p>\n

And she\u00a0spends plenty on her personal presentation \u2014 paying $25 a pop for her signature Stila bright-red lipstick,\u00a0about twice the cost of a drugstore brand, and winning praise\u00a0for her cutting-edge fashion and \u201cpower tailoring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet she can\u2019t manage her personal finances well enough to pay back her student loans?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s crazy to trust her with the nation\u2019s finances.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was literally easier for me to become the youngest woman in American history elected to Congress than it is for me to pay off my student loan debt,\u201d she said during her first year in the House.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

That was plausible when she was a bartender. Not anymore.<\/p>\n

Now, her ongoing indebtedness is disqualifying.<\/p>\n

Millions of Americans have delayed marriage, childbearing and homeownership because of student loan debt.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a serious problem \u2014 but that doesn\u2019t mean the debts should simply be erased.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2020 AOC, along with Sens. Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren, pressed President Joe Biden to offer $50,000 loan \u201cforgiveness\u201d to every debt holder.<\/p>\n

They blasted him for not getting it done by executive order. But the word \u201cforgiveness\u201d is a hoax.<\/p>\n

You may ask the Almighty for \u201cforgiveness\u201d\u00a0in prayer; you may ask it of a friend you\u2019ve offended.<\/p>\n

But when a\u00a0student loan borrower doesn\u2019t pay, the debt isn\u2019t forgiven \u2014 it\u2019s transferred.<\/p>\n

And the rest of us get gouged.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what Education Secretary Linda McMahon told 9 million\u00a0Americans with delinquent student loans last March, reminding them that taxpayers are on the hook for the $425 billion they owe.<\/p>\n

AOC\u2019s foot-dragging on her student loan reveals a stunning lack of respect for taxpayers.<\/p>\n

That same disrespect is\u00a0why she\u2019s an outspoken opponent of work requirements for able-bodied people on Medicaid \u2014 that is, for couch potatoes who are capable of working but refuse.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Back in 2010, then-House Speaker\u00a0Nancy Pelosi championed expanding Medicaid\u00a0to able-bodied adults, arguing that it would free Americans from the burden of staying in a job for the health insurance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Aspiring poets or artists could quit the drudgery of work and find themselves \u2014 on your dime.<\/p>\n

So the poets and couch potatoes are in their heyday, with the latest data showing\u00a0that almost six out of every 10 non-disabled adults on Medicaid don\u2019t work at all.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why the Republican Congress enacted reforms last year requiring healthy adults without dependents to work, volunteer, or attend 20 weekly hours of addiction treatment or job counseling to qualify for Medicaid.<\/p>\n

But AOC\u00a0vehemently opposes this reform.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

\u201cEveryone should have health care in America, regardless of who you are and what you\u2019re doing,\u201d she\u2019s \u00a0said \u2014 oblivious that work is essential to people\u2019s well-being, and the nation\u2019s, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our shrinking workforce participation puts the United States on a course of long-term financial failure, sapping our productivity and imperiling Social Security and Medicare.<\/p>\n

But AOC couldn\u2019t care less.<\/p>\n

AOC\u2019s a moocher, and she sides with the moochers.<\/p>\n

If you want to keep what you earn and keep this nation economically viable, elect a president who will be a responsible steward of taxpayers\u2019 money.<\/p>\n
