Hayden Panettiere\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9, Wladimir Klitschko, has addressed the actress\u2019 tragic death after obtaining custody of their daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur family is going through a time of profound shock and grief. The announcement of Hayden\u2019s tragic death saddens me deeply. She left this world far too soon. Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya,\u201d the boxing legend wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe built an incredible career through immense talent, while also facing the darker sides of a very demanding industry. Nothing will erase the times we shared or the place she had in our lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo our daughter Kaya, I will always speak of her mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was.<\/p>\n

\u201cI extend my deepest condolences to Hayden\u2019s parents, her friends, and her fans, who are also grieving today. Young and talented people like Hayden should not leave this world so soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ask everyone to please respect our family\u2019s feelings and privacy during this incredibly difficult time. For now, this is all I wish to say.\u201d<\/p>\n

Klitschko shared a throwback snap of himself, Panettiere, and their daughter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Panettiere died on Aug. 16. She was 36.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,\u201d her father, Skip Panettiere, wrote in a statement to Page Six. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her \u2014 and to the millions who watched her on-screen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Page Six confirmed that officers responded to a call regarding a reported cardiac arrest after an apparent \u201coverdose\u201d at a Greenville County, South Carolina, apartment around 1:51 p.m. local time on April 16.<\/p>\n

According to the Greenville County Coroner\u2019s Office, they attempted to resuscitate the actress but were \u201cunsuccessful.\u201d She was declared dead at\u00a02:32 PM.<\/p>\n

The coroner reported no signs of foul play or trauma \u201cthat would have contributed to the death.\u201d A cause of death has yet to be released.<\/p>\n

Hayden was staying at an Airbnb at the\u00a0Judson Mill Lofts apartment complex when the heartbreaking incident occurred.<\/p>\n

She had flown to South Carolina from Los Angeles with her\u00a0on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson the day before.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBring It On\u201d star is survived by her now 11-year-old daughter, whom she had given up custody of in 2018 amid her struggles with postpartum depression and addiction. At the time, Kaya was 2 years old when she went to live with Klitschko full-time in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Hayden and the boxer started dating in 2009 and got engaged in 2013. They welcomed Kaya the following December before officially parting ways in 2018.<\/p>\n

The Disney alum got candid about the emotional turmoil she faced for being \u201ccompletely incapable\u201d\u00a0of caring for Kaya while discussing her new memoir \u201cThis Is Me: A Reckoning\u201d\u00a0in West Hollywood, California, in May.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe worst thing that somebody said to me is that it was a personal choice that I was making,\u201d\u00a0she said. \u201cWho would choose to feel like this? Like, how could you even say that to me? This beautiful child is healthy and everything to celebrate \u2026 And I\u2019m completely incapable of doing it. I felt so guilt ridden that I was incapable of doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the \u201cHeroes\u201d star developed a good relationship with Kaya, and a solid co-parenting relationship with Klitschko over the years.<\/p>\n
