{"id":6805,"date":"2026-08-17T21:40:27","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T21:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=6805"},"modified":"2026-08-17T21:40:27","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T21:40:27","slug":"eric-swalwell-confessed-to-drug-fueled-sex-romp-with-suspected-chinese-spy-fang-fang-bombshell-files-reveal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=6805","title":{"rendered":"Eric Swalwell confessed to drug-fueled sex romp with suspected Chinese spy \u2018Fang Fang,\u2019 bombshell files reveal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Eric Swalwell confessed to a\u00a0prescription drug-fueled sex romp\u00a0with a suspected Chinese spy, according to\u00a0newly released\u00a0FBI\u00a0files that\u00a0confirm for the first time\u00a0the disgraced former congressman\u00a0got physical with Beijing\u2019s purported honeypot.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=6803\">Exclusive | Tragic Hayden Panettiere slurred her words and became emotional in final appearance before her death<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The former East Bay congressman\u00a0had \u201cphysical relations\u201d\u00a0with\u00a0Christine Fang, also known as \u201cFang Fang,\u201d\u00a0on at least two occasions, according to investigative files made public Monday by the White House Transparency Task Force.<\/p>\n<p>On one occasion,\u00a0Fang\u00a0showed up at Swalwell\u2019s apartment\u00a0late one night demanding to be let in, with the Democrat admitting the\u00a0two \u201chooked up\u201d after he\u00a0had taken an Ambien\u00a0\u2014\u00a0his explanation for barely remembering the tryst.<\/p>\n<p>A former Swalwell campaign aide told FBI agents in a May 1, 2015, interview\u00a0that Fang was \u201cvery flirtatious\u201d and boasted to Swalwell \u201cthat she was not wearing any underwear\u201d upon arriving at his doorstep unannounced.<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell, whose career and campaign for California governor imploded this past April after\u00a0accusations of rape and sexual assault by multiple women, was interviewed at the FBI\u2019s Oakland outpost in 2015,\u00a0as Fang became the subject of a counterintelligence investigation over her relationships with Bay Area and national political figures.<\/p>\n<p>The now-45-year-old claimed to the FBI that both of his encounters with Fang, described as a \u201cstriking individual\u201d in the documents, took place at his apartment \u201cprobably before he was first elected to Congress in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne night FANG came over late in the evening and started banging on SWALWELL\u2019s door,\u201d the document states. \u201cSWALWELL let her in and she and SWALWELL hooked up. FANG left after a couple hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSWALWELL barely remembers the event because he had taken an Ambien prior to FANG arriving,\u201d according to the document, helpfully clarifying that \u201cSWALWELL takes Ambien to help him sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to interview notes, Swalwell \u2014 a member of the Dublin City Council before his election to Congress \u2014 told investigators he and Fang had \u201ccasual\u201d relations and often communicated via text message.<\/p>\n<p>The files were posted months after\u00a0Swalwell accused the Trump administration of meddling in the California governor\u2019s race\u00a0following FBI Director Kash Patel teasing the release of the files in late March.<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell\u2019s links to Fang were first reported by Axios in December 2020, and led to then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) booting him from the House Intelligence Committee in January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Fang, believed to be an operative for the Chinese Communist Party\u2019s Ministry of State Security (MSS), helped\u00a0organize fundraisers for Swalwell in Las Vegas and California, according to a witness interview.<\/p>\n<p>She also reportedly cultivated relationships with a network of rising politicians and other influencuers across the US.<\/p>\n<p>Fang repeatedly encouraged Swalwell to visit China \u2014 even extending an invitation to Swalwell\u2019s father and his family following the congressman\u2019s 2014 re-election, according to newly declassified documents.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=6801\">Buss family selling Lakers\u2019 ownership to Josh Kushner, Bob Iger<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Swalwell\u2019s father later mentioned this to him, he [Swalwell] thought it was odd,\u201d\u00a0investigators wrote. \u201cNeither Swalwell\u2019s father nor his family traveled to China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell did not respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Sara Azari, an attorney for Swalwell, who is currently\u00a0under investigation by the Fair Political Practices Commission, blasted the document dump Monday as old news.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Download The California Post App, follow us on social, and subscribe to our newsletters <\/strong><\/h2>\n<div>\n<p><strong>California Post News<\/strong>: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, WhatsApp, LinkedIn<br \/><strong>California Post Sports<\/strong> Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X<br \/><strong>California Post  <\/strong>Opinion <br \/><strong>California Post Newsletters<\/strong>: Sign up here!<br \/><strong>California Post App<\/strong>: Download here!<br \/><strong>Home delivery<\/strong>: Sign up here!<br \/><strong>Page Six Hollywood<\/strong>: Sign up here!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThere is nothing new here,\u201d Azari said in a statement to The Post. \u201cThe government\u2019s own memorandum confirms what Congressman Swalwell has said for more than a decade: he did nothing wrong, and there was no basis to charge him with any offense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added: \u201cWhat is new and deeply concerning is the apparent use of federal law enforcement information to punish or embarrass an outspoken critic of the current administration. An investigation that produced no charges and no finding of wrongdoing should not be resurrected years later as a vehicle for political retaliation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe facts have not changed. Only the political motive for publicizing them has. That should concern anyone who believes federal law enforcement must remain independent of political retribution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although portions of the document are redacted, they describe Fang as having been deeply involved in Swalwell\u2019s political operation.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI documents also show Fang helped place an intern in Swalwell\u2019s congressional office in Washington, D.C.
