Residents were stunned to learn that Hayden Panettiere had been tragically found dead at a luxury apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with Page Six, a tenant of Judson Mill Lofts detailed the harrowing hours after the \u201cHeroes\u201d actress died in one of the complex\u2019s units on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was shocked, as I\u2019m sure everyone in Greenville was, to find out she was here,\u201d the neighbor said.<\/p>\n

The resident noted that they had not seen Panettiere before the news of her death broke late Sunday night. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know that she was there long, and I\u2019m not sure she even ever left the apartment,\u201d the neighbor said, adding, \u201cI can only speak for myself, but you know, I never saw her [and] I haven\u2019t spoken to anyone else that said they have.\u201d <\/p>\n

We\u2019re told the property managers reached out to residents to keep them informed on the circumstances surrounding Panettiere\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe apartment complex has sent out a couple messages saying it wasn\u2019t anything criminal and that there\u2019s no reason for anyone to be scared or anything like that,\u201d the neighbor said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s still kind of jarring to hear that someone of her stature was here and then that tragically happened to her,\u201d the neighbor added.<\/p>\n

The neighbor shared that cops were on the scene from around noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe coroner vehicle showed up and of course, I knew then that there was a death,\u201d the neighbor said. \u201cThen woke up this morning to hear that it was Hayden, which is just still shocking.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the neighbor didn\u2019t have much more information, the source did notice two men \u201csitting outside the apartment with cops.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThey looked like they were in shock, not speaking, and had their heads down,\u201d the neighbor said. <\/p>\n

The tenant noted that they believed the apartment where she died was an Airbnb rental, which Page Six has confirmed. <\/p>\n

Hayden\u2019s father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the actress died on Sunday. She was 36.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,\u201d Skip told Page Six in a statement. \u201cShe was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her \u2014 and to the millions who watched her onscreen.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWe ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police responded to the incident after Hayden was found \u201cunresponsive\u201d and a friend called 911 at 1:51 p.m, TMZ reported. <\/p>\n

She died after an apparent \u201coverdose,\u201d according to 911 audio obtained by Page Six. <\/p>\n

Paramedics responded to a call about an \u201cunidentified female\u201d in \u201ccardiac arrest\u201d on Sunday, according to the recording. Responders attempted to resuscitate her with \u201cadvanced cardiac life support\u201d and chest compressions, to no avail. She was pronounced dead at 2:23 p.m. <\/p>\n

While her cause of death has not yet been confirmed, cops confirmed that there were \u201cno signs of foul play.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUpon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,\u201d a Greenville police spokesperson\u00a0told NBC News.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe case is under investigation by the Greenville Police Department in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner\u2019s Office,\u201d the spokesperson continued.\u00a0\u201cThe preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.\u201d <\/p>\n

A source told TMZ that Panettiere \u2014 who flew into South Carolina from Los Angeles just one day prior with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson \u2014 had recently been suffering from back pain.<\/p>\n

Panettiere had battled with postpartum depression,\u00a0substance abuse,\u00a0trauma,\u00a0and other challenges before her passing.<\/p>\n
