In an exclusive interview with Vogue alongside his wife Georgina Rodr\u00edguez about their wedding, the Portuguese soccer star admitted \u201cthis is probably my last year of football.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to leave a spectacular legacy,\u201d he continued to the outlet. \u201cI have my future all mapped out. I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard. Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I\u2019ve earned \u2014 what we\u2019ve earned. Because after all it\u2019s been 25 years with a lot of sacrifice.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the biggest career revelation Ronaldo, whose\u00a0Al Nassr\u00a0contract runs until June 2027, has made since the FIFA World Cup this summer in the U.S.<\/p>\n

After losing in the Round of 16 with Portugal to the eventual World Cup winner, Spain, he announced it was his last World Cup while declining to say when he would retire from football altogether. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe day will come [when I retire from international football],\u201d Ronaldo said. \u201cBut I\u2019ll be honest. Whatever happens [Monday], Cristiano will leave with a clear conscience, not 100%, but 1,000%. Because I\u2019ve given everything in football. I don\u2019t need it, I have a good life, but it\u2019s about passion. I play football because I love it\u2026 You have to enjoy every day. And I\u2019ve scored three goals [at this World Cup], I\u2019m not doing too badly, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old billionaire, per Forbes, did not experience a title win on the world\u2019s biggest stage before making the call. <\/p>\n

It also means he won\u2019t play for his native country when it hosts the World Cup in 2030 with Spain and Morocco, ending a run in playing for Portugal that goes back to 2006.<\/p>\n

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward scored three goals in total throughout the World Cup this year. <\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been fantastic,\u201d said Ronaldo. \u201cIt goes beyond the pitch\u2026 This is the World Cup I\u2019ll remember the most, because of people\u2019s passion. It\u2019s even more this time, I don\u2019t know why. It\u2019s been, emotionally, the best. I\u2019ve enjoyed it very much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the conclusion of the international spectacle, Ronaldo has tied the knot with his longtime partner Rodr\u00edguez on Aug. 11.<\/p>\n

The two organized an intimate ceremony in their living room in Cascais, Portugal\u00a0that their five children attended.<\/p>\n

Rodr\u00edguez revealed to Vogue they went with a quiet ceremony before a big wedding bash to do something more \u201cunusual\u201d for the family. <\/p>\n
