WASHINGTON \u2014 \u201cSquad\u201d Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez whined about the \u201cnegativity\u201d she\u2019s faced for publicly sharing her egg-freezing journey \u2014 but insisted she has no regrets despite the backlash.<\/p>\n

The Bronx and Queens congresswoman, who is rumored to be mulling a bid for higher office in 2028, grumbled that the scrutiny and media frenzy she\u2019s faced comes from a sexist double standard that she\u2019s dealt with since her meteoric rise in politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe answer to that simply is no,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said on Instagram Saturday about whether she has regrets. \u201cI was born a woman, period. And I have no control over that, and I wouldn\u2019t want to change that.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the way I feel is, any negativity or judgment that I would receive at any point is negativity that I would receive for being a woman, whether I shared this information or not. So I might as well help others,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The progressive darling announced on Aug. 8 that she was freezing her eggs, and began unleashing a series of social media posts taking the public through the process.<\/p>\n

She framed her decision to make the journey public as a way to inspire and inform other women about their options.<\/p>\n

The move also fueled rumors that she split from her fianc\u00e9 Riley Roberts, something she refrained from confirming publicly \u2014 but sources told The Post that it happened a while ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cEver since I was 28-years-old when I first won my primary, largely unexpectedly to the national media, I have been subject to personal scrutiny and dissection ever since,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez further griped on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s no secret to anyone that it\u2019s been done in a way that is just simply not something my male colleagues have been subject to,\u201d she went on. \u201cI have the privilege of being more resilient to this kind of negativity than someone who hasn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n
