weekly audience in 17 weeks and its first time topping 4 million viewers since late March.<\/p>\n<p>Gutman was filling in for vacationing anchor Tony Dokoupil.<\/p>\n<p>Gutman, 48, was sued Friday by former ABC News field producer Samira Said, who accused him of making inappropriate sexual remarks during two assignments several years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Said filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, naming Gutman, ABC News and parent company The Walt Disney Co. as defendants.<\/p>\n<p>In one alleged incident, Said claims Gutman began discussing and rating the appearance of a female correspondent while the two were waiting on a public line during an assignment.<\/p>\n<p>The suit says Gutman \u201cinitiated a discussion rating a female correspondent\u2019s appearance and reducing her professional standing to a numerical score based on her physical attributes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other male crew members allegedly joined the conversation and tried to get Said to weigh in. <\/p>\n<p>She refused and told them the discussion was inappropriate, according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Said alleges a second incident occurred while she and Gutman were covering a press event for a movie release.<\/p>\n<p>The two disagreed about whether they should leave the work site.<\/p>\n<p>Gutman allegedly responded with a sexualized insinuation about Said in front of several city,\u201d the suit said.<\/p>\n<p>Said alleges the comments were demeaning and \u201creduced [Said\u2019s] professional judgment to a sexualized stereotype.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The allegations against Gutman are part of a broader wrongful termination lawsuit against ABC.<\/p>\n<p>Said, who worked as an ABC News field producer for four years, claims she was wrongfully fired in 2025 after dealing violating California\u2019s Fair Employment and Housing Act by failing to provide accommodations.<\/p>\n<p>Said had been assigned to cover the 2022 shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where she was required to interview child survivors who had witnessed their classmates being killed.<\/p>\n<p>After the assignment, Said told her supervisor she needed a short leave to attend to her health, but was denied, according to the suit. <\/p>\n<p>A psychiatrist eventually approved medical leave.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit alleges that shortly after the leave began, David Herndon, then head of ABC\u2019s Los Angeles bureau, continued sending Said assignment requests.<\/p>\n<p>Said was assigned to cover the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025.<\/p>\n<p>About three weeks into the assignment, she was sent home after a supervisor observed her physical condition deteriorating, according to the suit.<\/p>\n<p>Later that year, Said injured her foot while covering a weather-related story in the area.<\/p>\n<p>She reported the injury to supervisors but was denied medical leave after being evaluated by a company doctor, the lawsuit claims.<\/p>\n<p>Said is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, along with attorneys\u2019 fees.<\/p>\n<p>Gutman spent 17 years at ABC News, primarily reporting from Los Angeles, before joining CBS News in January.<\/p>\n<p>He was the first high-profile talent hired by CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss, who took over the division in October 2025.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The lawsuit comes after Gutman recently revealed that he nearly fell for a sophisticated phone scam.<\/p>\n<p>In a July video, Gutman said a caller claiming to work in his bank\u2019s \u201cfraud protection\u201d department gave a name and badge ID and appeared to know detailed information about his banking.<\/p>\n<p>The call was convincing enough that Gutman said he nearly walked into his bank and emptied his account. <\/p>\n<p>He realized something was wrong
