He\u2019s guilty as sin.<\/p>\n

Luigi Mangione has now admitted his role in the brazen murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson back in December of 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan and he died,\u201d Mangione declared Friday morning in Manhattan Federal Court.<\/p>\n

Those chilling words should put the 28-year-old behind bars for life.<\/p>\n

However, among his depraved army of fangirls, Mangione\u2019s guilty plea only bolsters his status as a righteous warrior. <\/p>\n

As one self-declared \u201cMangionista,\u201d 27-year-old Abril Rios, said outside the courthouse: \u201cI see it more of a revolutionary act of protest, the likes of which we haven\u2019t seen since the civil rights era.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another dimwit gushed that she and the killer used the same sleeping medication, calling it \u201ca little bonding moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

These people who treated Mangione\u2019s twisted manifesto \u2014\u00a0in which he seemingly admired headlines about the murder that \u201cconvey[ed] a greedy bastard that had it coming\u201d \u2014\u00a0as their modern-day bible will say he\u2019s a hero and a martyr for a greater cause.<\/p>\n

But the preppy rich kid turned cold-blooded murderer is nothing but a sad-sack loser who ruined his own life \u2014 and the lives of the Thompson family, including his two sons who were just 16 and 19 at the time of his death.<\/p>\n

Mangione\u2019s brazen assassination of Thompson on a Midtown Manhattan street also shattered a fragile sense of security for anyone with success, as his shots declared war and open season on individuals with a high net worth or any sort of perceived power.<\/p>\n

A civilized society cannot function this way \u2014 and Mangione must pay.<\/p>\n

Days after the murder, the lowlife was arrested at a Pennsylvania McDonald\u2019s, a development that should have brought us a sense of relief.<\/p>\n

Instead, the aftermath was almost as horrifying as Thompson\u2019s killing. People cheered this executioner. Some were besotted with his swarthy good looks, others by his willingness to take out a healthcare CEO \u2014 a complicated industry that has become increasingly expensive and some argue, inhumane.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve interviewed some of Mangione\u2019s most ardent supporters, who have seemingly shown more devotion to a killer than to steady employment.<\/p>\n

There was the trio of insane women whom City Hall shamefully gave press credentials that granted them access and credibility. There were cretins in Super Mario Brothers costumes and Luigi merch. I met a woman who traveled from New Hampshire to perform her original song, \u201cDelulu for Lulu.\u201c<\/p>\n

I can confirm that she was certifiably delulu.<\/p>\n

Many tried to rationalize Mangione\u2019s action as a necessary spark of resistance and change.<\/p>\n

Thompson\u2019s assassination at Mangione\u2019s hands, they argued, finally forced a much needed dialogue about the state of healthcare in this country.<\/p>\n

On Friday, superfan Christina Marani told The Post: \u201cIn a way, it\u2019s really unfortunate that someone had to die to spark the conversations that we\u2019re now having, but unfortunately that\u2019s the way it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

But I have yet to see any productive conversations about policy or pragmatic solutions \u2014 only bloodthirsty celebrations of wanton murder and the elevation of a loathsome fool as some sort of religious figure.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also exposed the depravity infesting leftist political discourse.<\/p>\n

Just a few months ago, in an interview with the New York Times, leftist streamer Hasan Piker explained the adoration of Mangione by invoking the words of communist Friederich Engels. Thompson, Piker said, was guilty of a \u201ctremendous amount of social murder.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to that line of thinking, Mangione was justified in snuffing out Thompson. But we need to snuff out a dangerous ideology that celebrates political violence.<\/p>\n

Today should belong to the grieving family of Thompson, whose pain has been lost in this circus. They\u2019re the real victims.<\/p>\n

Appearing at court for the first time, widow Paulette Thompson sobbed as Mangione spoke. She and her sons later released a statement calling the plea \u201can important step toward justice for Brian and for our family. While nothing will ease the pain of losing him, we are grateful that the federal justice system has held the person responsible for this heinous act accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n
