WASHINGTON \u2013 Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes the truth is out there about unidentified flying objects and the Trump administration will find it.<\/p>\n

Rubio, who also doubles as national security adviser, told Katie Miller for her podcast that he takes UFO sightings seriously and that the government needs to find out \u201cwhat\u2019s flying over our airspace.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what it is, but there are things flying over our military installations and they\u2019re not ours, and we should look into this, be serious about it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He was clear he doesn\u2019t believe there was some kind of conspiracy at work but said \u201cwe should know what\u2019s flying over our airspace.\u201d<\/p>\n

There have long been reports about Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena over US military bases, including a recent one about a 100-foot black triangular UFO over a Colorado military base. The Trump administration, led by Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, have been working to solve the UFO mystery.<\/p>\n

Rubio said if they could find an answer, President Trump \u201cwould be all over that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019d be showing the pictures and the videos.\u00a0 But Stephen is on that case now, and I think he\u2019s doing a great job with that,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Katie Miller revealed her husband gives her no details because the information is \u201cclassified.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rubio and wife Jeanette joined Miller for an hour-long interview, talking about their sleep habits, their work in the Trump administration and their family life.<\/p>\n

In the interview, Rubio revealed some issues with his famous next-door neighbors on the military base in the DC area. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his wife Jennifer have two cats \u2013 compared to the Rubios two goldendoodles \u2013 and the pets can present some challenges.<\/p>\n

The Rubios\u2019 dogs often wander down the street to the Hegseth home.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have one that\u2019s really smart,\u201d Rubio said. \u201cKnows how to open the door.\u00a0 So one day, I think Pete and his family were just sitting around watching television, and they keep their front door open because they have cats, which I never took Pete for a cat guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dog just walked into their living room and looked around, realized I\u2019m in the wrong house, and turned around and walked out,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

And he has his issues with one Hegseth cat, who likes to hang out on Rubio\u2019s porch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll get home at night and the cat is just sitting on my porch and just looks at me,\u201d Rubio said, adding the cat has an \u201cattitude.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cat is a very arrogant cat,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And the feline has made itself at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cat just looks at you.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t even \u2013 usually a cat, you approach it and it takes off.\u00a0 This one does not take off running,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

The secretary of state also revealed he won\u2019t try the popular MAHA diet that Vice President JD Vance and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. utilize. Part of Make America Healthy Again, it involves eating meat and fermented foods like sauerkraut.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a crazy diet,\u201d Rubio said, extolling his love of sugar. \u201cThis is not a sustainable thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noting his hectic travel schedule as secretary of state, he added: \u201cI\u2019m not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut.\u00a0 It\u2019s ridiculous.\u00a0 I can\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Jeanette Rubio revealed the real reason: her husband\u2019s love of Pop-Tarts.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe eats all the things you should not be eating, every single thing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Rubio extolled the virtues of the breakfast pastry: \u201cThe Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in the history of the world, if you think about it.\u00a0 It comes in this beautiful foil package.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need carbohydrates to function,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

But he also loves fast food, his wife revealed.<\/p>\n

Rubio copped to his love of convenient food options but explained the one time he tried the keto diet \u2013 which limits carbohydrates and sugar \u2013 he went crazy.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just eat all this protein, and so you go through this massive withdrawal from sugar and carbohydrates for the first 72 hours.\u00a0 It was a near-psychotic event for me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t talk about the NATO trip or the secret plane switch that resulted from a security concern about the president, but he did reveal on the flight back from an overseas trip to China in June that one staffer slept so long and deeply on a couch in the Air Force One conference room that they thought the person died.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a significant period of this flight, it was debatable whether this person had passed away or not, depending on how they\u2019re sleeping,\u201d Rubio said.<\/p>\n

The person wasn\u2019t responding to all the noise on the plane \u2013 the background noise of the engines or people chattering.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t see chest movement,\u201d he said. \u201cI couldn\u2019t establish a consistent breathing pattern in the individual, but I also didn\u2019t want to wake them up on the one hand or discover a dead body on the other.\u201d<\/p>\n

The staff worried what they would do if a dead body was discovered on the presidential plane and an ensuing investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe spent a considerable \u2013 like 90 minutes sort of debating, should we make a move?\u00a0 Should I call the doc?\u00a0 Should we deal with this?\u00a0 Because it\u2019s embarrassing if you wake him up \u2013 oh, I was just sleeping.\u00a0 But if they were dead, like, what do you do?\u00a0 You have a dead body on the plane,\u201d Rubio said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what the protocol is for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the unnamed person was fine and woke up.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

On a serious note, Rubio described a day in his work life: starting at the State Department and moving over to the White House around noon.<\/p>\n

And he talks to President Trump multiple times a day.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll start working the phones at or around 6:00 a.m.,\u201d he said of the president, whom he described as a great storyteller.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s been a public figure for almost half a century,\u201d Rubio said. \u201cHe knew everybody at some point or another.\u00a0He had interacted with everybody.\u00a0He\u2019s just got great stories. If you ask him about somebody, he\u2019ll go back and tell you about them.\u00a0 And it\u2019s a pretty amazing life he\u2019s lived.\u201d<\/p>\n
