Convicted drunk driver Jamie Komoroski urged South Carolina cops to check on the bride that she killed after plowing into her golf cart minutes after her wedding reception, according to newly released police bodycam footage.<\/p>\n

Komoroski, then 25, claimed that she \u201cdidn\u2019t do anything wrong\u201d as she sat roadside following the crash that saw 34-year-old newlywed Samantha Hutchinson pronounced dead in Folly Beach, SC in April 2023, WCSC reported.<\/p>\n

Komoroski was traveling behind the wheel of her Toyota rental car at 65 mph when she smashed into the back of Hutchinson\u2019s golf cart. <\/p>\n

\u201cIs she okay?\u201d\u00a0Komoroski asked bystanders about Hutchinson, according to a clip which the outlet released.<\/p>\n

Komoroski then yelped, \u201cGo check on her,\u201d while an officer surveyed the wreckage. Komoroski\u2019s car airbag was deployed and smoke was seen billowing into the air.<\/p>\n

Komoroski was helped to her feet before she screamed and appeared to point at Hutchinson\u2019s body.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can get a blanket and cover her up,\u201d a responding officer was heard saying just before 10:30 p.m. on April 28,\u00a0while Komoroski was led away from the crash scene.<\/p>\n

Folly Beach cops have also released footage that showed Komoroski being uncooperative at the roadside once she had composed herself.<\/p>\n

Komoroski, who had spent an hour drinking at bars before the crash, initially told cops she didn\u2019t have a drink \u2013 before admitting she had a beer and a tequila pineapple cocktail. <\/p>\n

\u201cOn a scale of 1-10; 10 being the most impaired and intoxicated you\u2019ve ever been in your entire life, and 1 being completely sober, where would you rate yourself right now,\u201d the officer asked at 10:56 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like a lawyer right now, honestly,\u201d Komoroski fired back.<\/p>\n

She also wanted to call her dad, a request refused by the cop, and was told several times to put her feet inside the police car.<\/p>\n

Komoroski continued to complain when she was in the police station.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just, like, want to get it over with and go home,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She asked an officer if she could call her dad, and claimed \u201cNobody has any proof of anything I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Komoroski was told she didn\u2019t have a right to a phone call while in protective custody and the officer refused to grant her request.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a grown adult and you\u2019re crying on camera,\u201d an officer in the room said, which sent the driver into a frenzy.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, hello, I\u2019m crying because he\u2019s not letting me call my f\u2013king father even though they haven\u2019t proven s\u2013t,\u201d she said while slurring.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just being a little baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then imitated the cop who was telling her to \u201cstop.\u201d<\/p>\n

Komoroski claimed it was her right to have a phone call while in custody \u2013 even though it\u2019s not in the Constitution.<\/p>\n

She also refused to provide a breath sample \u2013 demanding officers \u201cprove\u201d the DUI allegations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have to prove anything,\u201d she snapped.<\/p>\n

Komoroski was later found with a blood alcohol content of 0.261% \u2013 more than three times the legal limit of 0.08 in South Carolina.<\/p>\n

She was sentenced to 25 years in prison in December 2024 after pleading guilty to reckless homicide and DUI charges.<\/p>\n

But during her trial, Hutchinson\u2019s widow, Aric Hutchinson, told the court how he wished he died alongside his bride.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish I had gone that night, so she didn\u2019t have to go alone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have joy, I don\u2019t have passion, I don\u2019t have drive. I am stuck in hell. I think about that night every single day and the last moments that I had with Sam on the golf cart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Komoroski apologized to her victim\u2019s family and said she would \u201calways be devastated\u201d and \u201cdeeply ashamed\u201d of her actions.<\/p>\n
