Perez Hilton\u2019s first words from his hospital bed after being transported to a medical facility following what appeared to be a self-harm livestream were reportedly \u201cI need help.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail, an insider close to the family shared that the gossip blogger, 48, is \u201creally suffering.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a man in a lot of pain,\u201d they added, per the outlet. \u201cI think right now he\u2019s focused on the physical, but it\u2019s all tied together. No one deserves the torment he\u2019s going through.\u201d <\/p>\n

The insider, who according to the outlet claimed Hilton is \u201cstable and alert,\u201d was \u201cable to articulate himself\u201d to his mother, Teresita Lavandeira, in the hospital. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut I don\u2019t think he\u2019s quite self-aware enough yet [to understand exactly what happened],\u201d they added. \u201cHe\u2019s still in a dark place as I understand it. Just very very sad.\u201d <\/p>\n

The insider reportedly said that prior to the incident, Hilton \u201cwas acting normal.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the thing,\u201d they added. \u201cHe was getting excited about future projects. It had been a good day up to then.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hilton, who was born Mario Lavandeira Jr, was taken to a hospital late Tuesday after livestreaming what appeared to be a self-harm video on TikTok, from his new home in Miami. <\/p>\n

Audio dispatch from a call to 911 revealed the incident was called a \u201csuicide attempt.\u201d The insider told the Daily Mail that Hilton\u2019s mother \u201cwas the one who met the cops there and told them\u201d about the mental health crisis. <\/p>\n

The source added that the mother-son duo had an agreement that if the media personality ever needed a break from his three children, Teresita would take them out. <\/p>\n

The family \u2014 including Hiltson\u2019 sister, Barbara Lavandeira, released an update on Thursday revealing that \u201cwhen it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself,\u201d Barbara, Hilton\u2019s neice, and Hilton\u2019s three children \u201cimmediately fled to protect\u201d\u00a0the kids \u201cfrom witnessing any further trauma.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hilton then commenced with the livestream on TikTok, which was taken down after 15 to 20 minutes due to what TikTok called a \u201cmoderator error\u201d in a statement to Deadline on Wednesday. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur highest priority right now is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced,\u201d the update read. \u201cAn important part of that process is allowing them to safely return home and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy.\u201d <\/p>\n

The Daily Mail\u2019s insider shared that despite multiple stressors \u2014 including a move from Las Vegas to his Miami home, two hospitalizations earlier this year, and subsequent medical bills \u2014 they were taken aback by the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was nothing specific that happened that anyone knows of,\u201d they reportedly told the outlet. \u201cHe hasn\u2019t been particularly depressed.\u201d <\/p>\n

The source claimed Hilton was \u201cactually looking forward to new opportunities and new projects. The numbers on his website had been low, but they had been going up, not down.\u201d <\/p>\n

The pal said there \u201cwasn\u2019t like a big event\u201d that caused the apparent mental crisis. \u201cWe think it\u2019s the stress from the move,\u201d they noted. \u201cHe can get very overwhelmed sometimes. Everyone knows that. But never to this extent.\u201d <\/p>\n

A Las Vegas pal said they thought Hilton\u2019s turn to religion after his hospitalizations was \u201ca little strange.\u201d \u201cBut again I just thought, \u2018OK, this is a man who almost lost his life.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The second source said Hilton was \u201cmissing Vegas and he hoped he\u2019d be back,\u201d and that he\u2019d confessed to being \u201coverwhelmed.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hilton was said to have left Vegas in an effort to put his family first, given that \u201cBeing a good dad is part of his identity.\u201d <\/p>\n

The first friend said that Teresita \u201chas been crying a lot\u201d and that \u201cshe\u2019s frantic. Even now.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s devastated,\u201d the family friend allegedly said, further claiming that Teresita is \u201ckeeping the kids, she\u2019s let DCF [Department of Children and Families] know that she\u2019s willing to have them as long as needed.\u201d <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, an industry insider reportedly told the outlet that Hilton was having trouble processing that his career isn\u2019t what it was back in the 2000s. <\/p>\n

\u201cSeeing everyone on TikTok do what he did years ago isn\u2019t easy,\u201d they claimed. \u201cHe should\u2019ve just been living a chill life in Vegas, but that\u2019s hard when you\u2019ve been in the spotlight for so many years.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hilton\u2019s reps have not responded to Page Six\u2019s requests for comment. <\/p>\n
