A Kentucky bride-to-be is tying the knot with the brother of the boy who saved her life over 20 years ago when he donated his liver in a \u201clife-saving\u201d transplant. <\/p>\n

Brooklyn Dotson was a little girl when she received a liver transplant from her fianc\u00e9 Noah\u2019s late brother, Michael, \u201cand their lives were connected from that moment,\u201d according to the couple\u2019s wedding website.<\/p>\n

In 2003, Dotson, 24, and her family learned that she was diagnosed with a rare liver condition and would only have three days to live. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey told my mom to go ahead and call the funeral home and make my arrangements,\u201d Dotson told Lex 18.<\/p>\n

She said her mother refused to give up, and after a donor liver was found, Dotson underwent the life-saving transplant surgery at Cincinnati Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n

Dotson\u2019s donor turned out to be Michael Waters, who at a young age was determined to become an organ donor.<\/p>\n

Michael Waters, of Dayton, Ohio, was 10 years old when he was struck and killed by a car, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

Michael Waters\u2019 parents, committed to honoring his wish, donated his organs to those who needed them most \u2014 including his liver to the dying toddler from Kentucky.<\/p>\n

However, his organ donation didn\u2019t just save Dotson\u2019s life all those years ago. It also put her on a path to meet her future husband.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven as a kid, he\u2019d do anything for anybody\u2026 he was way more mature than he needed to be,\u201d Noah Waters told Lex 18 of his older brother.<\/p>\n

After the surgery, a friendship sparked between Dotson and Noah Waters \u2014 one that blossomed into something far deeper over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI realized that I kind of had feelings and it was after my birthday,\u201d Dotson told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mom had contacted him and was like, \u2018I think Brooke likes you\u2019 and that same weekend he came to see me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple is set to tie the knot on September 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d say he probably knew what his purpose was. I had no idea that my brother was gonna save my wife\u2019s life 20 years later,\u201d Noah Waters said of his older brother.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get to enjoy life because of him and I get to live and hopefully honor his memory the best way that I can,\u201d Dotson told the outlet.<\/p>\n
