The gangbanging son of a Westchester County police bigwig had a Bronx court date just minutes before he allegedly opened fire on a rival \u2013 with his cop mom and ex-con dad as getaway drivers, prosecutors said Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Chase Lackard, 20, faced a judge on a 2024 gun rap just 20 minutes before the alleged June 29 drive-by gang shooting \u2013 with help from his mom, disgraced Mount Vernon Deputy Police Commissioner Jennifer Lackard, and\u00a0drug-dealing dad James Lackard, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s captured on cameras running into this courthouse,\u201d Bronx Assistant District Attorney Keturah Ladd told the judge. \u201cHe had a court date and a court appearance on the third floor of this building.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennifer Lackard, 49, a former member of Bronx Community Board 9, was hired in 2020 to run the suburban department\u2019s Wellness Unit, and was fired from the job after her arrest.<\/p>\n

Also named in the Bronx indictment is her drug-dealing ex, James Lackard, who served 10 years in federal prison for peddling heroin in North Carolina \u2014 but remains on the lam.<\/p>\n

According to sources and news reports, Jennifer Lackard co-founded and ran a North Carolina nonprofit with her ex-con hubby, which was shut down after James Lackard\u2019s conviction.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Lackard moved north and joined the Bronx community board and started a new nonprofit in the borough, Re-Entry Link LLC, before she was hired to the newly created position by Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard.<\/p>\n

It is not immediately clear why Patterson-Howard hired Lackard despite her checkered past, affiliation with an ex-con and lack of experience in law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The mayor\u2019s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.<\/p>\n
