Former Mayor Eric Adams got heckled and shouted down during a Wisconsin meeting as he tried to pitch locals on an AI data center, a wild video shows.<\/p>\n

The excruciating video \u2014 first reported by Hell Gate \u2014 shows the one-term mayor awkwardly introduce himself to the Wisconsin Rapids crowd, with his name met by an avalanche of boos during the Saturday meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou belong in prison!\u201d one attendee shouted, referencing Adams\u2019 controversially dismissed federal corruption case.<\/p>\n

The cheesehead kerfuffle is the latest post-mayoralty headscratcher from Adams, who opted not to run for a second term in 2025 after a scandal-plagued four years in office.<\/p>\n

Since leaving Gracie Mansion, Adams became an Albanian citizen and has been the subject of bonkers Chinese AI slop videos and watched his close adviser Frank Carone get hit with a corruption indictment of his own.<\/p>\n

The flamboyant former mayor has also embarked on a new venture as a \u201cbusiness development consultant,\u201d hocking a portfolio that includes green rebar and fire retardant.<\/p>\n

He recently bragged to The Real Deal about his portfolio and 80% close rate helping firms sell everything from cleaning services to health monitoring technology.<\/p>\n

But Adams\u2019 pitchman prowess apparently faltered in Wisconsin, where he spoke on behalf of PNK Group, an industrial engineering and construction company hoping to build a data center on 209 acres along the Wisconsin River.<\/p>\n

The site was a former paper mill that closed in 2020, taking 900 local jobs with it.<\/p>\n

PNK reportedly said the project would create 50 to 150 permanent jobs but declined to say who would occupy the building.<\/p>\n

Locals, however, apparently didn\u2019t cotton to the project \u2014 leading to the awkward meeting with Adams.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether we like it or not, folks, data centers are going to be here,\u201d Adams told the crowd.<\/p>\n

Audience members \u2014 who seemed puzzled as to Adams\u2019 identity until he named himself \u2014 didn\u2019t hold back attacking him.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet out of here! Put it in your backyard!,\u201d one resident spouted off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re here to steal our water!\u201d another yelled.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many bribes did you pay in this town?\u201d yet another shouted.<\/p>\n

Adams \u2014 who used to captivate New Yorkers with fishy-sounding stories, including one about a childhood pet rat named \u201cMickey\u201d \u2014 then tried to win the room with a story about artificial intelligence helping a friend catch a breast cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs this story true?\u201d one attendee questioned.<\/p>\n

After Hell Gate detailed the chaotic meeting, Adams\u2019 spokesman Todd Shapiro contended the outlet got the facts wrong. <\/p>\n

Shapiro argued Adams\u2019 consultant work for Panattoni, an industrial developer, is consistent with the \u201cpro-growth, pro-innovation philosophy he championed while serving as mayor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA short video clip cannot accurately portray an event that lasted much longer,\u201d Shapiro said. \u201cIt omits the many attendees who approached Mayor Adams afterward to thank him, ask questions, and express appreciation for his willingness to engage directly with the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cReasonable people can have different views on individual projects, but the facts are clear: AI is transforming the global economy, and data centers are the infrastructure that powers it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Representatives for PNK said Adams serves as a consulting adviser on \u201ccommunity engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have retained him on a paid consulting basis to advise us on community engagement strategy and best practices,\u201d the reps said. \u201cHis experience is valuable as we work to engage openly and constructively with the communities where we are evaluating future projects.\u201d<\/p>\n
