Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham has sought a restraining order against embattled Rep. Max Miller, whom Grisham previously accused of abusing her.<\/p>\n

Grisham had sued Miller (R-Ohio) last month, alleging that he broke their nondisclosure agreement during a June interview with Spectrum News. It was not immediately clear why she sought a restraining order.<\/p>\n

An attorney for Grisham, Mark Zaid, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

Miller and Grisham briefly dated during the first Trump administration, when Miller worked as a special assistant to the president. In her 2021 memoir, \u201cI\u2019ll Take Your Questions Now,\u201d Grisham claimed an ex-boyfriend, whom she later identified as Miller, had physically abused her during their relationship, prompting him to sue her for defamation.<\/p>\n

The suit was settled in August 2023, weeks before it was due to go to trial.<\/p>\n

Miller previously refused to answer questions from The Post about Grisham due to that settlement. The lawmaker\u2019s team declined comment Tuesday.<\/p>\n

In the June 5 interview, Miller referenced allegations of abuse against him by both Grisham and his ex-wife, Emily Moreno.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout question, every allegation should be taken seriously,\u201d he told Spectrum News at the time. \u201cWhat should be noted is that allegation came out on the same day as somebody\u2019s book launch. And the other part, what I would like to discuss, is my ex-wife was with me every single day during that time of my life \u2026 and she, in her own words, will tell you that I never did any of those things.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), Miller\u2019s former father-in-law, called on the congressman to step down and argued that he needs psychological help.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of concern for the safety of my family, I hoped to keep this matter private, but Max Miller\u2019s increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible,\u201d Moreno posted on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter. If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miller married Emily Moreno in\u00a02022 at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. Miller filed for\u00a0divorce in August 2024, on their second wedding anniversary. The couple currently share custody of their 2-year-old daughter, but Moreno is seeking full custody.<\/p>\n

Emily Moreno\u00a0has\u00a0alleged in court documents and police reports that Miller shoved her, dumped scalding water on her that left burn marks, and put a gun to her head. The congressman has denied those claims.<\/p>\n

Moreno also raised concerns about their daughter\u2019s broken collarbone and \u201cwhat appeared to be a handprint bruise\u201d on her shoulder earlier this year,\u00a0.<\/p>\n

Miller has until Wednesday to step aside so that Republicans can nominate a replacement in his House race, but has so far declined to do so.<\/p>\n

A recent\u00a0Democrat-sponsored poll of Ohio\u2019s 7th District showed Miller up just one point on his Bernie-Sanders-backed foe Brian Poindexter, in a district Trump won by 11 percentage points in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a very sad thing. I know Max. He\u2019s a good person. I\u2019m going to let the families figure that out,\u201d President Trump told reporters Monday. \u201cBut it\u2019s accusations, and I\u2019m gonna let them figure that out.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Miller released a trove of records he argued would exonerate him, but that included audio of him acknowledging his ex-wife\u2019s claims that he dumped hot water on her in 2024 \u2014 as well as her accusing him of drug use.<\/p>\n
