We know Mamdani well enough after his seven benighted months as mayor to know that he would have delivered a speech slyly designed to divide and aimed not at the grieving mourners inside a church whose faith he disdains but at an international audience of anti-American Muslims and the like-minded diaspora he cultivates at home.

Awkward appearance

After the service, as NYPD cops carried Rampersad’s flag-draped coffin from the church and into a hearse for the blocks-long police procession to her eventual resting place in Long Island, Mamdani stood awkwardly in the shadows, his face clouded.

Like a chastised schoolboy in the principal’s office, he clasped his hands tightly together as he was ushered into the middle of the road for a photo op in front of the honor guard that stood motionless and impassive. For a few moments he stood with his back to the congregation, staring at the New York flag two inches from his face. It was only when his Democrat stablemates Gov. Hochul and state Attorney General Letitia James joined him that he realized he had to turn and face the crowd.

Awkward. Of course, Pakistani news service DRM News, one of the many sycophantic foreign newsfeeds that cover the mayor’s every move with breathless admiration, described their livestream as “Mamdani consoles the family of US soldier killed in Jordan.”

But there was no consolation from Mamdani. How could there be. With every ounce of his being he demonstrates his contempt for America and all it stands for. He pretends he represents New York because he struck it lucky in an election that split the Democrat vote, but it isn’t taking long for New York to turn its back on him, as he tries to enact impractical policies driven by envy and paid for by bailouts from Albany funded by New York’s workers.

What a humiliation for Mamdani to be in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the world and yet find he is an outsider.

Unwelcome mayor

He should have been in his element in the Democrat working-class heartland of Queens, and even in the more conservative-leaning Ozone Park, which still voted for him by 23 points over Andrew Cuomo last year. These are his people, he keeps telling us.

But in a neighborhood of white picket fences and American flags fluttering at half-staff in honor of Rampersad, his revolutionary poison is not wanted.

Like Mamdani, Rampersad was not born in this country. She came to America at the age of 2 with her family from Trinidad.

But unlike Ugandan-born, silver-spoon Mamdani, she grew up to be a patriot who wanted to serve her adopted country, like so many other immigrants before her.

Read more Cheryl Reeve chats with Sophie Cunningham, wears ‘Trans Kids Belong’ shirt after Fever star’s comments

Her family was a proud military family. Mamdani’s hate-flecked reign is an insult to them all.

His capitalist bashing and Jew bashing comes from the same dark place that is anathema to the spirit of New York.

Insists on imposition

His malicious publication of the names and addresses of New York property owners who he crows are subject to his new pied-à-terre tax was aimed at inspiring bloodlust from his Marxist revolutionary comrades like the loathsome Twitch-streamer Hasan Piker, who has said he wants the streets to “soak in red capitalist blood.”

Mamdani is inviting professional squatters at best and Luigi wannabes at worst to prey on the so-called rich.

He poses as a principled defender of human rights and the downtrodden when really he is just a zealot driven by hatred and bent on destruction.

It’s why the 9/11 families want him nowhere near September 11 commemorations. Of course, he insists on imposing himself to make himself feel good by asserting his dominance.

Whether Mamdani is an aberration or a sign of things to come will become clearer after the next slew of Democratic primaries and the midterm elections. Will Democrat voters put the brakes on Marxism Mamdani-style or will they allow the cancer to metastasize?

The sacrifices of Rampersad and the 9/11 heroes will come to nothing if the Marxist revolutionary likes of Mamdani get their way.

Read more Trump announces when new Iran talks to begin after calling off ‘massive’ weekend attack

It took a lot of courage for the family of Angel Sarah Rampersad to refuse to allow Mayor Mamdani to speak at her funeral on Friday.

[19,11

post-6013","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-miranda-devine","category-opinion

Good thing Mamdani got denied at fallen Army hero's funeral - the divisive mayor is only driven by hatred - Metro Transit Review

{"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"Article","@id":"https://metrotransitreview.com/?p=6013#article","isPartOf":{"@id":"https://metrotransitreview.com/?p=6013"},"author":{"name":"admin","@id":"https://metrotransitreview.com/#/schema/person/7cd7bd9683106710eed62ba5da559b14"},"headline":"Good thing Mamdani got denied at fallen Army hero’s funeral —
