An Israel-bashing activist who collaborated on an art project with the city\u2019s first lady Rama Duwaji mocked Jewish people for \u201cwhining\u201d about the Holocaust.<\/p>\n

Susan Abulhawa unleashed an unhinged rant on social media in response to the news that Mayor Zohran Mamdani was facing backlash for not appointing one Jewish person to his 18-member judicial screening panel.<\/p>\n

\u201cEurope\u2019s holocaust has lost its meaning to the point that the whole world is sick of hearing about it,\u201d Albuhawa said in a July 31 statement on X. \u201cThese clowns invoke that genocide with every perceived slight (even as they are committing or supporting a contemporary genocide).<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is an extreme overrepresentation of Jews in every branch of government, media, and culture, but we have to listen to more holocaust whining because ONE damn judicial panel didn\u2019t contain enough Jews,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Abulhawa then warned if Jews don\u2019t tone down the criticism of Mamdani something bad could happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeriously, there\u2019s something terribly wrong with them, and if moderate Jews don\u2019t effectively reign [sic] in these extremists, it\u2019s not going to end well for anyone,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Duwaji, Mamdani\u2019s wife, created artwork for an essay book compiled by Abulhawa, who has previously described Jewish people as \u201cvampires,\u201d \u201cdemons\u201d and \u201cghouls\u201d \u2014 and celebrated the Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel.<\/p>\n

The city\u2019s first lady drew the lead graphic for \u201cA Trail of Soap,\u201d an essay Abulhawa published in the Slow Factory\u2019s Everything Is Political magazine.<\/p>\n

\u201cZohran Mamdani\u2019s wife did artwork for Susan just a few months ago,\u201d one X member posted.<\/p>\n
