A madman gunned down two people and wounded several others at a brand new In-N-Out Burger in Idaho on Saturday, sending panicked patrons running for their lives.<\/p>\n

The shooter, who is among the dead, launched his rampage inside the burger joint in Twins Falls at around 2 p.m. local time before heading outside \u2013 in clear view of witnesses who recorded the harrowing scene.<\/p>\n

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said investigators were still working to determine the final number of people injured and did not say how many people may have been involved.<\/p>\n

Hicks also said officials believe \u201cthe threat to the community is over\u201d and that investigators were working to identify the shooter and determine a motive.<\/p>\n

Jerome Police Chief Duane Rubink told CNN that \u201cit appears there was one shooter who is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot.\u201d<\/p>\n

One witness told the Associated Press he watched the violence unfold while stopped at a traffic light near the In-N-Out restaurant.<\/p>\n

Lane Koehn, 34, said he saw a person carrying what he described as an AR-style rifle come out of the drive-thru area before another man armed with a pistol began firing at the suspect.<\/p>\n

Koehn said an employee then rushed to help a wounded co-worker, dragging the woman \u2014 who he said had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest \u2014 across the parking lot. He, the employee and the man carrying the pistol remained with her until paramedics arrived.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was pretty bad off, but I don\u2019t know. I hope she made it,\u201d Koehn told the AP.<\/p>\n

Koehn estimated hearing three or four shots fired, adding that it was unclear to him whether anyone in particular had been targeted.<\/p>\n

Police had responded to the parking lot to what authorities described as an active shooter situation.<\/p>\n

In one cellphone video, filmed from inside a nearby vehicle, a man wearing a black T-shirt and blue pants is seen standing between two parked Teslas before aiming what appears to be a rifle at the driver\u2019s-side window of the blue vehicle.<\/p>\n

Two shots ring out in quick succession, with a visible muzzle flash accompanying each discharge.<\/p>\n

The man then lowers the weapon and briskly walks away before breaking into a run across the parking lot, still carrying the firearm.<\/p>\n

The person filming can be heard whispering, \u201cOh my gosh\u201d moments before the shots.<\/p>\n

As the suspected gunman moves away, the camera abruptly drops as the person filming appears to duck for cover. A panicked voice later says, \u201cGet down \u2026 I don\u2019t have service.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another video, recorded from a vehicle stopped at a red light on Blue Lakes Boulevard North, shows people running across the street as gunshots crack in the background.<\/p>\n

The camera pans toward the In-N-Out, where a person in dark clothing can be seen pacing near a white sedan in the drive-thru lane while holding a long firearm.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe got more in the back,\u201d one occupant says as the armed person leans into the sedan and later opens its rear hatch.<\/p>\n

The person then removes a second long object from the vehicle as one witness says it is \u201csomething bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m getting the f\u2014 out of here,\u201d an occupant says before the vehicle speeds away.<\/p>\n

As it passes the restaurant, one person yells out the window, \u201cHey! Stop shooting! Stop shooting, bitch!\u201d<\/p>\n

Several people can be seen fleeing the area, including a person in a white shirt running across the road and another in a bright yellow shirt sprinting along the sidewalk.<\/p>\n

Authorities shut down the Perrine Bridge and roads in the area, while businesses in a nearby shopping center were placed on lockdown and the parking lot near Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods was cleared.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Magic Valley Mall also went into lockdown, while St. Luke\u2019s Magic Valley urged people to avoid coming to the hospital unless it was an emergency.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The hospital said its emergency department remained open and was \u201cworking closely with law enforcement and emergency responders as they manage the situation,\u201d according to the Associated Press.<\/p>\n

Reinke said investigators were transporting hundreds of witnesses to different locations for interviews.<\/p>\n

Chick-fil-A Twin Falls closed for the remainder of the day out of an abundance of caution.<\/p>\n

Gov. Brad Little urged Idahoans to \u201cavoid the area and follow directions from law enforcement as they work to keep everyone safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FBI said it was aware of the shooting and was offering assistance to local law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The Twin Falls restaurant had been open for just one week before Saturday\u2019s shooting, having welcomed its first customers on July 25, according to CNN.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are heartbroken,\u201d In-N-Out COO Denny Warnick said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur prayers go out to our Customers, our Associates, and all of their families. We are working with the Twin Falls Police Department to assist in the on-going investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n
