A North Carolina man obsessed with his teen girlfriend killed her as they drove down a highway following his pressure campaign to carry out a murder-suicide pact.<\/p>\n

J\u2019Kobe Tre\u2019shon Ramseur, 23, and Justice Wells, 19, were found suffering from gunshot wounds inside the teen\u2019s black Kia on the side of I-77 in Mooresville, NC, on Sunday, according to Mooresville Police.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the Exit 35 ramp just after 4:30 p.m. when they came across the pulled-over sedan riddled with four bullet holes coming from inside the car.<\/p>\n

Ramseur allegedly pulled a gun on Wells as she was driving, but she fought back as he fired off a few shots, Morresville Police Chief Ron Campurciani told reporters Tuesday, according to WCNC.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have dashcam video that shows the vehicle swaying all over the road. In fact, a tire pops off at one point because the car is being so erratic,\u201d Campurciani revealed.<\/p>\n

Wells is believed to have been shot in the head, with the bullet going through the driver\u2019s side window.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe other shots make no sense where they\u2019re located except for the fact that she was probably in a struggle with him to take the gun away, that\u2019s what it looks like,\u201d Campurciani said. \u201cLooks like they were in a struggle and he was just firing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ramseur suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the temple with the bullet still in his head.<\/p>\n

Both occupants were transported to Carolinas Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Wells was pronounced dead at the hospital on Wednesday, according to WBTV.<\/p>\n

The couple had been in a \u201creal tumultuous relationship\u201d for some time when Ramseur began texting Wells Sunday at midnight while she was at her overnight job, Campurciani said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve been on and off for a while. It\u2019s been a real tumultuous relationship between them from what we\u2019ve been able to determine. There\u2019s been reports of domestic violence in surrounding counties involving these two,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The text chain continued with a \u201cwhole bunch of messages\u201d sent through the morning until 8 a.m. when Ramseur brought up a murder-suicide pact, Campurciani revealed without providing additional details.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe kept pressuring her and pressuring her to pick him up,\u201d he said, adding the last message was sent at about 2:30 p.m., two hours before the shooting.<\/p>\n

Ramseur was initially charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder, but the charges were upgraded to First-Degree Murder after Wells\u2019 death.<\/p>\n

Campurciani issued a frightful warning following the deadly suspected domestic violence attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a father of 20-year-old twin girls. Nobody changes. If there\u2019s violence, if somebody puts their hand on you. Once he pushes you, once he shoves you, that\u2019s it. If you think it\u2019s gonna get better, you\u2019re delusional, cause it doesn\u2019t. It gets worse,\u201d he said, trying not to choke up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a firm believer that people will treat you exactly how you allow them to treat you, so if you keep letting this stuff go, it\u2019s going to get worse and worse,\u201d the top cop added.<\/p>\n

Campurciani described Ramseur as being obsessed with Wells based on messages he had sent her.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems like the \u2018if I can\u2019t have you, nobody\u2019s gonna have you\u2019 type of deal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ramseur was a suspect in another crime in the area, but officials didn\u2019t provide any details because the other investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is well known to authorities in multiple counties.\u201d<\/p>\n
